Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I'd expected The quality of this product has nothing to do with Home Depot. I have purchased about 10 of these batteries, lured by the 10 year expectation. I have one smoke detector at 15' and didn't want to have to borrow a 10' ladder each year. Unfortunately the life of the battery has been approximately 2 years or less. When asked about how I wanted to handle the issue, cash or coupons, they had no problem sending me $10.00 coupons as replacements. I did tell them if the new batteries had the same less than stellar performance they would be sending me money. The batteries cost about $7.00 each, pretty pricey. I may wind up buying my own 10' ladder and cheaper annual batteries. They do last longer than cheaper ones but not enough longer for their claim. September 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed, these batteries did not last any longer than standard 9v batteries in a smoke alarm application The idea that I might only need to change out the smoke alarm batteries every ten years sounded great. I figured I'd be happy if I only had to change them out every 5 years. Unfortunately these didn't last a year. A very clear waste of money! June 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lithium 9V for smoke detector Instead of buying a 10-year smoke detector, I replaced the old alkaline 9V with a lithium 9V, which will last until 2025. Good deal. August 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Last forever! Too expensive. They work great all day. Just overpriced! Still the best batteries available. July 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not successful Being a general advocate if the "You get what you pay for" philosophy, I often believe if it costs more, it must be better. So I purchased these batteries for a total of more than 30 smoke alarms of various brands, in four different houses. In each house, the smoke alarms are hardwired and not using battery power. In all four houses, the smoke alarms started chirping their "low battery" signal in 12-18 months. I had thought we were set for multiple years, rather than having to swap out batteries with the time change. Regular nine volt batteries should be changed every year but frequently last several years without chirping. Not these. Also, these batteries are very hard to insert into the kind of smoke alarm that has a side-hinged battery case that is supposedly easy to change the battery without detaching the smoke alarm from the power. Instead, each smoke alarm has to be detached from the ceiling, and in two cases. The little door actually broke from trying to fit this slightly larger, more squared off battery into the case. I'm back to changing the regular 9 volts every year. June 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ten Year plus peace of mind for your smoke alarms Replace your alkaline batteries with these lithium equivalents in your smoke/fire alarms and be worry free for at least the next ten years June 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Effective smoke detector silencer! I awoke last night to the horrid chirp of a dying smoke detector somewhere stuck to the ceiling in my apartment. Hoping to ignore the sounds and just fall back to sleep, I rolled over covering my head with the pillow. A few moments later, another chirp. It would not stop. Begrudgingly I got up to search my home for the offending device, which seemed insistent on keeping me from sleeping. A few chirps later, I found the beast. Stretching with all my might to reach the ceiling, I seized, twisted, and contorted the plastic shell free from its base. Then, like a lion ripping through the heart of a freshly fallen gazelle, I reached in and swiftly removed the old battery. With the smoke detector now crippled, I searched for a replacement battery - knowing I had just bought some at Home Depot not 2 days before. Finding this pack of batteries, I rushed to bring the detector back to life before returning to sleep. Since then, I have not had an issue with the detector in question, and I expect not to for quite some time given Energizers' advertised abilities. I would recommend everyone keeps a spare pack of 9v around so this tale can end as happily for you as it did me. Smoke detectors are actually serious business, and one without a battery can't save your life. November 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Advanced Lithium Battery Battery life is good and excellent to use on fire alarm detector and remote control. I usually change my battery on my devices every year and since staring using this one last longer that other similar brands. April 29, 2015
