I think Duracell is the best but energizer brand still works well, but buy a higher mili amp if you can.

What is the Battery Shelf Life?

What is the shelf life of the UNOPENED package of batteries? Is there a "Best if used by" date on the package? What remedy would I have if I exceeded the date, if so stated?
Asked by: GUNRUNNER
some of the cheap brands lose 15% or more in 2 weeks or so.duracell and energizer make a battery that says it holds its charge unused for a year, you have to pay more for the batterys but it is worth it.if your batterys are dead when you open the package,i would say just charge them.after draining the power and charging 2 or 3 times the batterys should still hold a charge like new.i have used rechargeables till they are very low, than just charge and not have any problems.
