This stove is a great value @ $699. We are having an issue with the door not latching properly. I'm addressing with Englander so I'm confident that will be corrected. The stove heats up our 1100 sf lower level and after a few hrs of burning..heats the upper story as well. Now the caution..in the required clearance specs it says 5 in for a corner install. DO NOT put this stove 5 in from your combustable wall. The heat coming off this stove is waaay to hot. We have it at 6 in and after a few hrs of burning you can't touch the sheetrock and leave your hand. It's too expensive to move once you have a hole cut in your house for the pipe so I would do a min of 10 in. We are looking into getting side heat shields and a blower to correct this problem.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by warminRI I love my new stove!!!
I can't say enough good things about my new Engalnder stove. It's a heavy, well constructed unit that throws plenty of heat. The view of the fire through the large panoramic glass is spectacular, so much so that I no longer sit in my recliner because I cannot see the fire while watching tv!!!! The air control is a great feature. The stove has air inlets in the front and a sliding steel plate with a lever that you move left to allow more air in for a hotter fire, or right to cover the air inlets for a slower burn. I did notice that the sliding steel plate does have some fore and aft movement to it, allowing about a 1/8 gap between the plate and the stove which can allow more air into the inlets than may be desired, reducing efficiency. However, after moving the the air control to the right for a slow overnight burn, I have found that by simply using my fire poker to gently move the plate in flush against the stove, I have increased the burn time of a load of wood from 5 hours to 8, and sometimes even 10 hours!! That's better efficiency than my Dad's Regency , a stove costing twice as much!!! I have checked out many stoves online and read the reviews, and I have to say that dollar for dollar this one has them all beat. So there you have it. A stove that heats like nobodys business, with efficiency to match or exceed that of a higher end unit. What more could you ask for. I would definately recommend this stove to anyone.
