I bought a Honeywell standard 7 day programmable micro volt compatible thermostat from Home Depot and some 2 wire thermostat wire. $25 for the thermostat, can't remember what the wire cost me. Thermostat works fine, just had to figure out the stove settings.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good stove for the money We are on our second week with this stove and really happy so far. This stove replaced our old pellet stove that was 22 years old, we have electric furnace as our back up heat source. This stove heats our house every well while being very conservative on pellets. The only thing I have found wrong with this stove is that the door is not completely sealed by the gasket. I'm going to sit down this weekend and either adjust door or add a slightly thicker door gasket. I love the push button start up, and the large hopper. This is not a Quadafire or other high end stoves, but it is a very good stove for the money. This is why I gave it five stars. I would also like to add the wall mount thermstat. December 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Purchase Ever Bought my Englander in 2011 and it has more than paid for itself.....With oil so high we use our stove all winter and cut our oil consumption in half.....We are very pleased with the unit and support we get from the company....It is easier to repair then the more expensive ones on the market....The best part is they send you a cd to show you how to repair everything....I have only replaced the starter since I have bought the stove and it was easy...... Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by have had to much trouble with it Not real happy with it for the money I paid, have had to get replacement parts before I could even find out how it worked. Auger is noisy even after cleaning/glass gets dirty faster than other stoves I have seen/the good part, when it does run, it has good heat January 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I was so happy with my other smaller Englander stove I decided this year I would be heating my cold cellar area with this stove. I am extremely happy with the heat output, the ease of cleaning, and the speed of which I recieve parts when and if I need them through their web site. One thing I failed to consider when ordering this stove was the height off the ground I would have to set this stove to allow the proper exhaust and intake through the wall. Thank goodness I only have a block foundation. I may have to consider swapping these 2 stoves around come spring or summer. 2 feet off the floor doesn't really work for me. Let me be clear this was all my bad. After being told by my co-workers that these stoves are "cheap" and you can't get parts etc. I have seen just the opposite. After running the smaller stove for nearly 5yrs. straight full out I finally put some parts into it this year. Very, very happy with both. March 31, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good So far this pellet stove is working great. Only problem I had was with attaching an external thermostat. The setup was easy but making it function had me stumped for several days. After much internet searching it turned out the stove was shipped in the "high low" setting in stead of the "on off" setting. The installation manual said the opposite. Once I realized that, the stove and thermostat were easy to adjust and it now works great. One comment on noise. When the stove is at the lowest burn setting and fan setting you barely hear it. But when it cranks up to middle or higher setting you will know this thing is in the room. There just no way around that. If you want something that is silent don't buy a pellet stove. If it is really cold it only takes a little while of this thing running on high before the room is warm enough to turn it back down. then it is pretty peaceful again. November 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Paid for itself 1st year. I bought this stove 2 yrs ago. It paid for itself in the 1st year!!! (I had very high heating bills for my very old house) This stove does put out sufficient heat. Don't be a fool... It is not silent!!! As with any pellet stove, it does make noise because of the blowers. However, I have it in the same room as my TV and I can hear my programs just fine. It does have a large ash pan. That was a selling point for me as I didn't want to have to empty it daily. Other stoves had a very small ash pan (about 1-2 cups capacity). Another selling point, a 3 bag pellet hopper!!! WOW! Depending you your heat setting, this can last an entire day! *I had a squeak last year when the auger would turn to feed pellets to the burn pot. I t drove me crazy! I took the whole thing apart and I couldn't find any flaws in the auger. It turned out to be a pellet that got caught between the auger and the auger tube. I figure that this could have happen with any pellet stove. It hasn't happened again since then. --- My Cleaning Schedule --- On an average setting of "6" I do have to perform a: -Light cleaning about every 3 days. (empty ash pan, brush-n-vac burn chamber and heat exchange [About 20-30min.]) -Deep cleaning once a week. (light cleaning + behind exhaust cleanout doors [About 30-45min.]) -Complete system cleaning every 5-6 months. Although you could probably wait and do this at the end of the heating season. (All the above + chimney pipe, exhaust blower, vacuum pellet dust/fines from hopper [About 1 hour.]) **( If you have a dusty house like mine... keep an eye on the room air blower. The 'squirrel cage' fins get clogged with dust and make the blower not work as well. Just use an old tooth brush to clean the fins and you will see a major improvement in air flow! ) I know this sounds like a lot of work...but these are tasks that come with buying/using a pellet stove. AND the savings of using Pellet heating vs Oil heating is worth it!!! March 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Try Different pellets I bought this stove last year and couldn't be happier with it. When I first got this stove I bought a few bags of (don't remember the brand) pellets and thought the stove was junk no heat lots of ash wouldn't start up properly but it was not the stove the pellets were junk. I use the pres-to-logs brand they made all the difference in the world. I suggest buying a few bags of different brands of pellets to see witch works best before giving up on the stove. for me this stove works great but probably can't go wrong with any brand of pellet stove !!!!! JUST TRY DIFFERENT PELLETS IF YOUR STOVE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY!!!! October 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Pellet Stove This is a awesome pellet stove. Great price and good quality. I have owned this stove for 4 years now ans still running strong. During the winter months my pellet stove runs 24/7. It is the main heat in my house due to my house heater is electric. This pellet stove has no problem keeping my house warm even when it is 10 below zero and my house is 1,500sq feet and if I turn it up to 3/4 or all the way it will heat my house way hotter than I can stand up to 90 deg F. I don't have to clean it out for two weeks and that is running it 24/7. It burns clean as long as you don't use Greentree brand pellets. It burns the Home Depot Heats brand really good. I would recommed this pellet stove. December 9, 2013
