It's no wonder we call this the work horse of our stove family. The Add-on Furnace can hook into your home's ductwork to supplement your existing heating system, or you can dump the heat directly into a garage, shop or other large area. The large, 850 CFM blower with thermostat pushes hot air through an 8 in. hot air outlet on the top of the stove, and if this hot air is routed into your homes existing ductwork, it can heat up to 3,000 sq. ft.. And we were the first to put a viewing glass on the door of our furnace, which means that you can check on your fire from the top of your stairs if it's in a basement, or from across the room if you place it in a large work area. This furnace burns wood, and were talking about big wood: the firebox accepts logs up to 25 in. long, and a huge ash pan below the firebox means that you will have ample room to collect the ash from those big logs.

  • Heats up to 3,000 sq. ft. when fed into your existing ductwork; supplements existing furnace
  • Less log cutting, accepts logs up to 25 in. long
  • Large 850 CFM blower aids in whole-house heat circulation
  • This was the first add-on furnace with a standard viewing glass (9 in. x 9 in.), check on your fire from across the room or the top of your stairs
  • Extra large ash pan for easy ash removal
  • Thermostat (for blower) included
  • Air wash system for cleaner glass
  • 8 in. hot air outlet

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great furnace for the basement! Buy this furnace.... The furnace has exceeded my expectations. I had purchased an epa wood stove first and I could not get the house up even 1 degree because it just did not throw enough heat. But now with this furnace, I can heat us up and sometimes have to crack a window!! It was an awesome purchase. I also added secondary burn tubes to it and it is more efficient. If interested check out the my modification on you tube. Don't go through another cold winter - buy this furnace! The blower is a bit noisy, but in the basement it is quiet enough... may not be great if you have this set up in your living room next to the TV.... not sure what the folks are complaining about... it is no louder than my oil furnace was. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great price Received shipment of this wood furnace on Friday afternoon October 11th. Off loaded it to my small flatbed trailer to uncover and inspect before the trucker left. It was in good condition, the trucker told of one he had delivered on Thursday that was pretty beat up. I took it to where I had a brush pile, added a bit of stove pipe to the flue system then built a nice fire in the furnace. I let it burn all night Friday and almost all day Saturday to burn off any oils and paint so the fumes would not be in the house. The owners manual says to open the windows to allow the home to air out while it is burning the first time. I am glad I took that step as I had black smoke rolling out the air draft vents and white smoke come out around the fuel fill door. I spent Saturday removing my old 28 year old wood furnace which was a lot heavier than the England. I got the England in the basement Saturday afternoon late. Monday I got new flue/stove pipe to hook it up to my chimney. I also at that time bought some 8 inch pipe to hook up to my heating ducts, the old furnace had a 12 inch transfer pipe. First fire in the home went well with just a little bit of fumes from the new flue/stove pipe, smoking around the doors was gone too. Starting a fire in this furnace is strange to me as I am not used to leaving the fuel door open for a ½ inch up to 20 minutes. I do it as the owner’s manual says to. Is going to take some getting used to. I was worried about this furnace not having a shaker grate as my old one didn’t either. For 28 years I have let the fire burn out then used a round shovel to take the ashes out the fuel input door as trying to poke them thru the grates was a royal pain in the kister. The grate is so much better in the Englander the ashes just about all fall thru when they have been burnt to dust quality. I do wish the ash pan had a center fold down handle to ease the removal till you can get to the handle in the rear of the pan. I will probably make one for it. So far after having a fire in it for over two weeks I am happy with the unit. I haven't even ran the fan except to make sure it worked. It is supposed to heat an area much greater than units costing 2 to 3 hundred dollars more. I can’t wait to get some real winter weather to see if it lives up to the 3000 sq. ft. heating capability. I have been getting by with loading it twice a day at this time with well-seasoned Ash. I would rate this at a 5 except for the opening windows in the house part in the owner’s manual. They should tell people to fire it up outside for the first time I believe. I also wish it had a optional stand or legs of some sort. At just 6 foot I find it lower than my liking to fill with wood and take the ash pan out. I think putting it on concrete blocks even in a basement furnace room tacky. As for the window in the door, At first My wife had to keep checking to make sure there was no fire outside the stove as the old one didn't have a window. I can take it or leave it. November 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great furnace at a great price The wood furnace works very well and was easy to install. I hooked it into my existing hot air plenum and it took me about 4 hours total to install. I've been using it for 3 years now and have been very happy with it. It is a bit noisy so I wouldn't install one in your living space but the basement is fine. October 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great product and value This furnace is great because of the large firebox and powerful blower. This is actually my third purchase of the same model as we have now moved three times over the last twenty years and because of its durability it has been a huge asset in selling our home as our utility bills have always averaged much lower than any of our neighbors. Rated 5 out of 5 by great stove This is a great stove. We got it just in time to, three days after we installed it we got a storm that dropped us to -23 with -45 wind chills. I did not know it but we had a propane leak at the tank and we were out. I figured it out at 1 in the morning when the house started to get cold and the fault lights were flashing on my furnace so I fired up the stove for the first time and it brought the house up to 70 and keep it there. I have a 1918 farm house so it's perty drafty. That three day storm was four weeks ago and I still have not got propane. We love this burner!! January 21, 2014
