I want to use these in passageways, on the side nearest the electrical outlet. I'm assuming the fan rotation can be reversed so we are not limited to where they are placed, but I don't see anything about that in the description.

Answer:
Too bad it's not reversible with the switch. Running a cord to a doorway is tricky and can't always be done from both sides. Not to mention it's nice to hide the cord under guides. Having to move it every time we want to change the airflow makes it difficult to use. Hoping one day this will be addressed in future models.

Answer:
Hello,
The airflow is reversible by the way the unit is installed not by the fan motors rotation. There are sets of keyhole slots on the flat side of the EntréeAir that can be used to mount the fan for airflow in either direction. The fan would be mounted in either the top left or top right of the doorway for the airflow you desire. If you would like to discuss the mounting for your specific application Read More

Answer:
No I dont believe they are. There ment for moving hot air from room to room.
I did find them too loud so Im moving them outside as exhaust fans in my grill room.
They wont be in any direct weather just humidity. The fan blades are plastic so that wont be an issue.

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 77 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product We have a pellet burner in our living room which is in the center of our home. We have two of these fans put one on either side of living room to help distribute the heat to both ends of the house toward the bedrooms. We don't have them on all the time, just for those bitter cold days when you need a little extra help distributing the heat. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great This fan works better than other reviews I have read. Its a little noisy. February 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Neither great nor bad. Just an average fan. No variable speed control This is a very small fan that mounts in the corner of your doorway. If it was any more obtrusive, you'd be banging your head on it. So because of its small fan blades, the motor has to run at very high RPM's to move any air. Thus it sounds like a small jet engine with its whining and whirring. It does move a lot of air though and it does the job of transferring air from one room to the next but don't expect it to make alot difference if you're trying to heat or cool an entire floor of your house. It's just not what it's intended to do. Down a hallway, up a staircase, one room to the next and it should be fine. Unfortunately, since it's single speed, your only options are "off" and ""full blast". But if you plug it into a variable speed controller, you can manually adjust the speed and the loudness of it. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Too noisy It seems to work but the fan made too much noise. I had to return it. February 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Too much GUARD! Too much guard restricted the airflow. Removed 75% of it with a coping saw... It's great now.., but it put me to work! February 11, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Really Loud Easy install and seems well built. But being single speed its insanely loud for a small unit. good for basement or places well away from where you want to be. Going to see if I can find a rheostat or something to slow the speed and noise. January 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works fine Its a one speed fan that works well ,not much more you can say. January 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Quality After two years the fan blades broke off, lucky I was home January 20, 2016
