Product Overview

Made from 100% recycled rubber, Envirotile has saved approximately 3 million tires from being sent to the landfill. Due to the nature of recycled materials, the tire rubber will vary from tile to tile. This variance results in each tile's naturally unique color as well as size, equaling up to 1/4 in. size difference from tile to tile. Envirotile is a "floating floor" system with a patented clipping system (sold separately) that provides the ease of a do-it-yourself application. These tiles can be installed on top of any existing hard surface such as wood, concrete, and patio tiles. The "floating floor" system is an investment; it is simple to pick up your tiles and move them to another location.

  • For use on balconies, patios, rooftops, decks, child play areas and more to create a beautiful floor
  • Each tile weighs approximately 8 lbs., making it light enough to carry by hand but heavy enough to stay put in place
  • Recycled rubber tiles are noise absorbing and anti-fatigue
  • Tiles are weather and frost resistant and do not have to be removed during the winter
  • Non-skid and impact absorbing
  • Easy DIY installation using patented connector clips; see installation guide and video for step-by-step instructions
  • Size variance, rotating the tiles side by side to find the best fit will help to alleviate variance issues
  • $3.11/ sq. ft. equivalent

Customer Questions & Answers

Does the surface absorb more sun than concrete? Is it uncomfortable to walk on barefoot when hot?

Houston
Asked by: Karen
Yes, the darker color attracts more sunlight but the material isn't as dense a "heat sink" as concrete nor as thick. TO mitigate this thin "masonry" item walking heat extreme, your underlayment would be anything that absorbs little heat, such as sand, et al. OR employ an insulating type of thin-set adhesive between it and concrete flatwork below

can this be used over concrete

I have a 9'wide x 5'deep x 8:" high concrete slab off by back door (looks like cinder blocks with concrete poured over them & may of had a lean to shed on it -previous owner removed) The concrete started to crack & break apart. I've repaired with concrete chalk, but would like to cover to improve appearance & maybe keep from cracking further. Is there a way of attaching to concrete.

I don't think that's a good idea. You would want the water to run off the rubber pavers. So the water would go under and onto the concrete. It does add a lot of pop to your area. The plastic connecters that attach under the pavers don't do a great job on keeping the seams tight. Try the look at them at the store by putting 9 or so on the ground. See if you like the looks. Maybe you could attach a wood boarder like I did, and drill the wood into the concrete. But don't do the boarder until your pavers are in. Just an idea.

Can these be installed on sand or does it have to be installed on a hard surface?
Asked by: Christi
See my review and picture. I went over hard clay with pea pebble underlay. I you could compact the sand hard, it will work.

18 in. x 18 in. Bella Rocca Terra Cotta Paver is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Looking & Soft! The tiles laid down so nicely @ garden gate, where ground tends to get muddy from dog & human traffic. They stay together without the connectors, & are very soft to walk on, even barefooted! Going back more! Buy these, you won't be sorry. The design is beautiful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Over Dirt I wanted to make a small 54" x 78" area which had dead grass and had my grill there anyway. I looked on line how others installed. But I did not want to dig on our clay 4 to 6". So I purchased 2 8' CEDAR landscape timbers from the big box store. I attached the timbers to each other with 2" L brackets (in hardware) I cleared off about 2" of soil?, so I could partially bury the timbers. I filled in the area with pea pebbles, about 10 bags, so I could have drainage. Before cutting the timbers, I put 3 in a row and marked where they ended, had to cut twice, b/c I added size for the lengthwise timber. I had 2 packs of plastic connectors so I connected all outside and some in, 2 on each. I did not need any hammer to attach the clamps, they loosely fit. Having the pea gravel showing thru the sided was no big deal, guess my walkway isn't straight. There are visible seams showing through, so maybe put down weed/grass blocker first. Took me about 6 hours with 2 trips to HD.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking patio cover! The tiles are very easy to install, even a novice could do it. They are much more comfortable on the feet then the standard concrete tiles. Only issue I found was some are not the exact same size. Due to this I strongly recommend buying 20% more then needed and return what's left over. It's basically the same thing you would do when using regular tile.
