Product Overview

Made from 100% recycled rubber, Envirotile has saved approximately 3 million tires from being sent to the landfill. Due to the nature of recycled materials, the tire rubber will vary from tile to tile. This variance results in each tile's naturally unique color as well as size, equaling up to 1/4 in. size difference from tile to tile. Envirotile is a floating floor system with a patented clipping system (sold separately) that provides the ease of a do-it-yourself application. These tiles can be installed on top of any existing hard surface such as wood, concrete and patio tiles. The floating floor system is an investment; it is simple to pick up your tiles and move them to another location.

  • For use on balconies, patios, rooftops, decks, child play areas and more to create a beautiful floor
  • Each tile weighs approximately 8 lbs., making it light enough to carry by hand but heavy enough to stay put in place
  • Recycled rubber tiles are noise absorbing and anti-fatigue
  • Tiles are weather and frost resistant and do not have to be removed during the winter
  • Non-skid and impact absorbing
  • Easy DIY installation using patented connector clips, see installation guide and video for step-by-step instructions
  • Size variance, rotating the tiles side by side to find the best fit will help to alleviate variance issues
  • $3.55/ sq. ft. equivalent

Customer Questions & Answers

Are these tiles suitable to cover bare ground?

I'm thinking of doing this as an alternative to laying actual flagstones in my back yard, and I want to cover an area 22 ft.X10 ft.
Asked by: Franc1sc0
YES. I used them that way and they are great. It's not that I wasn't willing to spring for the cost of real stone/masonry pavers but when I went to Home Depot to purchase them, I could barely move them off of the shelves, let alone lift them into my cart and later carry them around at home for installation. I am a single woman so have no help and really didn't care to spend a huge amount of money to have someone help me unload them and put them in place once I got home. These were also on the shelves at the time at my local Home Depot in the masonry section and I bought these in the Earth color, which I love. I had just bought a house and inherited a muddy yard and was tired of sinking in and tracking mud caked on my shoes into my house and elsewhere in my yard, not to mention what workmen tracked in. I can easily carry four of these tiles at once if I need to. They are easy for me to transport and work with and they have a huge advantage over real masonry pavers as these flex to sit well on uneven ground or over stray tree roots. I didn't have to do any digging. I simply placed them where I wanted them in the dirt and I also used them in areas on top of grass which had just been mowed. In the rich, brown Earth color they look great and don't look cheap or like a band-aid fix. They actually look classy. I have had mine in place for two years now and they have not moved or faded. Rain or wind hasn't budged them and they still look like new after two years out in Ohio weather. My local Home Depot no longer carries them but I'm buying more. They're a great solution. My only caveat would be, as another poster mentioned, look over the tiles since many of them are imperfect. Since I can't hand pick them off my local Home Depot shelves anymore, I'm buying extra and will return the flawed, less desirable ones. These are an excellent purchase. I LOVE THEM!

How many pavers would I need for an area 9x9 sq ft?

Asked by: lynn
Basic grade school math: 1 tile = 18"x18" 9 feet = 108" 108'/18' = 6 tiles 6 tiles wide x 6 tiles tall = 36 tiles. If you're buying them in person pay close attention and try to lay them out in the store to ensure you get tiles that fit together nicely and are of the same shade. The tiles are molded rubber and there are imperfections/distortions. If you've buying online I'd order extra and be willing to return the extras. They're nice but do require more work than concrete pavers.

can water and moisture get trapped under the tiles?

I want to put this over concrete
Asked by: Cindy
If they were placed over concrete yes but if placed on leveling sand or dirt then the water should soak into the ground and the sun should help remove any moisture.

Are they fire or heat resistant

Asked by: Candy
Resistant if you mean you drop a lit match on it yes but not retardant as it is made of rubber and rubber will burn.

They were very difficult to trim. I tried several different shears, scissors, coping saws, and hack saws, but in the end, repeated slicing with a sharp box cutter proved to be the best. The clips were useless as it was impossible to line up the holes in adjacent pavers so that the clips would fit. I think the location of the holes in the pavers were not uniform enough between pavers to allow the clips to be used. Fortunately, the walls of the entry way where I was using them kept the pavers in place without the clips. I think if the length of the holes in the pavers were longer, it might make up for their imprecise location and allow the clips to be used.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Only sold online at Home Depot In the process of changing the railing system of our covered porch, I needed additional tiles to fill gaps along one side of the porch. I had originally bought the first 40 or so tiles when they were sold in stores. The new ones are shiny, with more densely packed particles, and thus stick out like a sore thumb against the dull-surfaced originals. There was no way to see the difference in the product until I had them at home (ordered online and packaged for shipping). I'll need to sand and pressure wash these in an attempt to correct the different texture/finish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product Good / Connection Needs Improvement The tiles are great. They are sturdy and look great! The problem is the variation in size which the company says is a reasonable variation. The clips and holes for the clips to slide in to (which keeps the tile from shifting), do not always match up because of that variation. They either need to make the tile size consistent or allow some leeway in how they connect. It made it difficult to install and I had to use less and less clips because they would t fit. I still like the product, they just need to improve it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from installing envirotile pavers Tile was fairly easy to install- perimeter pieces require connection with easy to use connectors; for inside pieces, just place on floor surface and nudge into place with feet or hands. Noticed some slight irregularity in perimeters and surface. Main problem is finding a saw that cuts the material efficiently-I found that my table saw did not work well, but a jig saw works pretty well.. Main determinant of value will be how long the tiles last in an outdoor environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Front Porch Redo We bought these tiles to cover our front porch to give it a new look. They came out better than expected! The installation was very easy - they snapped together great. A little difficult to cut, but overall we love the new look! They look sharp and feel great to walk on in bare feet. Overall our front porch is our new favorite place!

These tiles are a great alternative to the mess and cost of tear-outs for deteriorating concrete slab patios and porch areas. An unfortunate problem is that it seems to be impossible to find the required clips in quantities less that a gross (144) at almost $40. All I need to finish my project is 12 and I can't find a small quantity for sale anywhere. Bummer.

The size and color is consistent, which makes for a better end result. I purchased a couple of packs 5 years ago, and they still look great. Easy to clean, and hold up well to the sun and heat. I will be ordering more.

If this message seems strange, it is because the field will not accurately reproduce capital letters. (ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ) The tiles are great, but the Chinese-made clips are a joke. First of all, they do not clip. If you are laying the tiles on a hard flat surface, the clips may help to hold them in place, but on an uneven or compliant surface, the clips will not stay in the grooves in the tiles. The clips, rather than having a reverse notch in them to clip them into place, are slanted so that the only thing that could hold them in place is a hard under surface and the weight of the tiles. I would NOT recommend the clips.
