Product Overview

Made from 100% recycled rubber, Envirotile has saved approximately 3 million tires from being sent to the landfill. Due to the nature of recycled materials, the tire rubber will vary from tile to tile. This variance results in each tile's naturally unique color as well as size, equaling up to 1/4 in. size difference from tile to tile. Envirotile is a floating floor system with a patented clipping system (sold separately) that provides the ease of a do-it-yourself application. These tiles can be installed on top of any existing hard surface such as wood, concrete and patio tiles. The floating floor system is an investment; it is simple to pick up your tiles and move them to another location.

  • For use on balconies, patios, rooftops, decks, child play areas and more to create a beautiful floor
  • Each tile weighs approximately 8 lbs., making it light enough to carry by hand but heavy enough to stay put in place
  • Recycled rubber tiles are noise absorbing and anti-fatigue
  • Tiles are weather and frost resistant and do not have to be removed during the winter
  • Non-skid and impact absorbing
  • Easy DIY installation using patented connector clips, see installation guide and video for step-by-step instructions
  • Size variance, rotating the tiles side by side to find the best fit will help to alleviate variance issues
  • $3.55/ sq. ft. equivalent

Customer Questions & Answers

How many pavers would I need for an area 9x9 sq ft?

Asked by: lynn
how many tiles come in a case

Date published: 2017-06-27

Are these tiles suitable to cover bare ground?

I'm thinking of doing this as an alternative to laying actual flagstones in my back yard, and I want to cover an area 22 ft.X10 ft.
Asked by: Franc1sc0
YES. I used them that way and they are great. It's not that I wasn't willing to spring for the cost of real stone/masonry pavers but when I went to Home Depot to purchase them, I could barely move them off of the shelves, let alone lift them into my cart and later carry them around at home for installation. I am a single woman so have no help and really didn't care to spend a huge amount of money to have someone help me unload them and put them in place once I got home. These were also on the shelves at the time at my local Home Depot in the masonry section and I bought these in the Earth color, which I love. I had just bought a house and inherited a muddy yard and was tired of sinking in and tracking mud caked on my shoes into my house and elsewhere in my yard, not to mention what workmen tracked in. I can easily carry four of these tiles at once if I need to. They are easy for me to transport and work with and they have a huge advantage over real masonry pavers as these flex to sit well on uneven ground or over stray tree roots. I didn't have to do any digging. I simply placed them where I wanted them in the dirt and I also used them in areas on top of grass which had just been mowed. In the rich, brown Earth color they look great and don't look cheap or like a band-aid fix. They actually look classy. I have had mine in place for two years now and they have not moved or faded. Rain or wind hasn't budged them and they still look like new after two years out in Ohio weather. My local Home Depot no longer carries them but I'm buying more. They're a great solution. My only caveat would be, as another poster mentioned, look over the tiles since many of them are imperfect. Since I can't hand pick them off my local Home Depot shelves anymore, I'm buying extra and will return the flawed, less desirable ones. These are an excellent purchase. I LOVE THEM!

can water and moisture get trapped under the tiles?

I want to put this over concrete
Asked by: Cindy
If they were placed over concrete yes but if placed on leveling sand or dirt then the water should soak into the ground and the sun should help remove any moisture.

Are they fire or heat resistant

Asked by: Candy
Resistant if you mean you drop a lit match on it yes but not retardant as it is made of rubber and rubber will burn.

We first used this product about 4+ years ago as our main patio material, over 200 square feet. We laid directly over dirt, landscape fabric and granite sand just as you would normal pavers. We did not use the clips. We had some constraints that made us not want to use normal pavers. After 4+ years we are about to extend our patio further using the same material. We are very happy with the results! Yes, they shift and settle more that you would get from normal pavers, but given we have young toddlers and a pool, we love the softness and non-slip we get from these verses traditional stone pavers.

I purchased them in April 2017 with the connecting clips and followed the directions to install them by myself with no problems. The pavers were installed directly on the ground in the yard, but I did level the ground before installation. Unlike stone pavers, the leveling process does not have to be perfect because of the flexible material used in the Envirotile paver. The pavers met my goal of minimizing the amount of dirt that the kids track into the house from the backyard. One thing to consider -- the Earth paver does get hot to the touch when it is in consistent direct mid-day sun, so you will want to make sure it is not too hot for bare-footed kids. For us, the Envirotile pavers are perfect because we needed a soft walkway from the house to the trampoline and firepit where the kids would not be hurt if they fell on the walkway.

I bought some 3 years ago and they are still holding up well. The color of the new ones is slightly different either due to the exposure of the originals or because they are from a different lot number. Either way They blend in with the old well enough. Layed on pulverized stone these have totally eliminated the weeds along the back of the house. I highly recommend them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad All I can say it was very disappointing, with the tiles that I bought two years ago to the tiles that I bought here recently most of all the tiles were not cut square, and also none of the clips would fit underneath the tiles in their slots for our job took me almost 12 hours to get down and it still is in complete with the gap's and missing clips on my back patio that I had done for my daughters graduation very very disappointed

Corners are curled/lifted at locations of clips. I've been told the hot summer sun (Las Vegas) will effectually soften the tile and cause it to relax back down into place, but at initial installation, the product was not exactly what I expected. I'll wait until summer to pass final judgement! If it all works out, I'd say this product is a good bang for your buck :)

In the past I have installed these on my front porch and my screened porch. They do exactly what I wanted, made a warmer looking area and are softer to walk on than concrete. I have been so happy with the tiles that I decided to cover a small concrete area outside of the screened porch. This gave a nice visual extension to the porch. They are quick and easy to install. The two porches have been down for over a year and I continue to be extremely pleased with the appearance.

Overall worth the price, we covered a 20' x 20' concrete patio that had previous finish issues, looks great, nice to walk on. They do not fit perfect like ceramic or other hard tile, the edges vary some, just dont look that close or pay the much higher cost for other tile. I did not buy the clips, since they are on concrete I glued the perimeter tile down with an exterior poly caulk and they have not moved, they are pretty heavy tile and it would take a lot to get them to shift around. If you are looking for a quick fix at a reasonable cost, this is your product. Also, I used a carpet knife to cut and it did well, you have to make 4-5 passes but it cuts nice.

They keep the pathways weed free and they are comfortable to kneel on when we are planting and tending the garden. We bought them last spring, and bought more this year.
