Product Overview

Made in North America from 100% recycled rubber, Envirotile has saved approximately 3 million tires from being sent to the landfill. Due to the nature of recycled materials, the tire rubber will vary from tile to tile. This variance results in each tile's naturally unique color as well as size, equaling up to ¼ in. size difference from tile to tile. Envirotile is a floating floor system with a patented clipping system (sold separately) that provides the ease of a do-it-yourself application. These tiles can be installed on top of any existing hard surface such as wood, concrete, and patio tiles. The floating floor system is an investment; it is simple to pick up your tiles and move them to another location.

  • For use on balconies, patios, rooftops, decks, child play areas and more to create a beautiful floor
  • Each tile weighs approximately 8 lbs., making it light enough to carry by hand but heavy enough to stay put in place
  • Recycled rubber tiles are noise absorbing and anti-fatigue
  • Tiles are weather and frost resistant and do not have to be removed during the winter
  • Non-skid and impact absorbing
  • Easy DIY installation using patented connector clips, see installation guide and video for step-by-step instructions
  • Size variance; rotating the tiles side by side to find the best fit will help to alleviate variance issues
  • $3.11/ sq. ft. equivalent

Customer Questions & Answers

can I use terra cotta rubber paver on sand or dirt

Asked by: cook
Hello cook, Envirotile can be installed on top of the bare ground. The area must have all grass removed, leveled, tamped, and a gravel base added. You can find more information at the Envirotile main site linked below. I hope this helps. Cheers, Chris Envirotile:

How is it to shovel snow off of it or should it be broomed off??

Asked by: swanny
Hello swanny and thank you for your question. I spoke to our manufacturer (who is in a northern climate) and they provided me some best practices for successful tile installation and maintenance in Alaska. These should also work in Montana: 1. Usually the clips are used to hold the tiles in place around the perimeter. Because you have warm/ cool/ freeze cycles, the rubber tiles will expand and contract during the seasonal changes. For best results, Multy Home suggests using the connector clips on all the tiles for a uniform look. 2. You can use rock salt products on the Envirotiles. It will wash away without harm (as you know, the Envirotiles were rubber tires in a “previous” life!). 3. The Envirotile can be shoveled manually. Dig into the snow more "horizontally" rather than "vertically." 4. Caution is recommended when using a snow blower since the blades may cut into the tile – causing a safety hazard and tile damage. Best wishes on your project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These tiles look excellent when purchased properly. I love the look of these tiles but have 2 minor recommendations when purchasing. First, make sure you purchase from the same lot. The tiles are slightly off in size in each lot. Second, for best results, use just 1 pattern. When I tried to mix patterns, there was too much space between the tiles due to size descrepancies. I have some spaces between my tiles, due to different lots and would love some input on how to fill these cracks without drawing attention to them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The patio floor has been down for approximately 4 weeks and so far we are very pleased with it. The rubber pavers were fast and easy to put down. We used more clips than suggested in the instructions that come with the clips. We purchased 218 pavers to cover a concrete patio that is 24 x 20. The concrete underneath had been painted several times which became slippery when wet. We had low spots where water sat when it rained and we had many cracks and holes in the cement. This was a perfect solution to solve the problems listed above. This patio is also a carport. We did not find any information as to whether we could park the car on it. Overall, we like it and are satisfied. To do a floor this size was a little expensive so we hope it last a very long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for exterior use I purchased this item for my back porches. One porch has a slope. This tile is flexible enough to contour to the angle without a tripping hazard. Hint: Go ahead a pay a little extra and get extra clips - they are well worth a few more dollars. Also if you need to cut these tiles, a battery operated reciprocating saw with a fine tooth metal-cutting blade works wonders. Just secure it safely and use a marks-a-lot to see the lines. Tiles vary in size ~ 3/8", still easy to install by yourself using a rubber mallet. Put it down and you're done! Nothing else to do to it except walk on it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the product but very difficult to enstall I love the look of this tile. I love the feel on bare feet. My cement lanai floor was very slippery when wet. However, the install is a lot of work as the tiles are not cut the same. Most of the tiles I have are 17.5 by 17.5 but also a few 18x18 and they don't line up. Also I cannot always get the clips on all four sides to match with the adjoining tiles and have had to glue some of the corners down with gorilla glue. I also have some spots where the two tiles didn't fit tight so there is a gap between them and I am going to have to fill in with some brown caulk to cover the floor showing underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE those RUBBER COBBLESTONE PAVER I LOVE those RUBBER COBBLESTONE PAVERS! I got about ten of those last year, and it worked so nice that I added 9 more this year. All I did was place them on the grass and allowed it to form into a perfect look. They are soft to walk on and do not fade their color thru time. We cut the grass as usual without any concern of damage. They give an instant manicured look to any area you place them in!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Idea, not a very good product. This is such a good idea, not only for the advertised ease of installation, but for the use of old tires. The problem is that the quality of the individual tiles is so bad, I've rarely found 2 (out of 70) that are exactly the same size and shape. Many of the edges are curved making the very hard to mate up to a straight edged one. One reviewer wrote to be careful to get your tiles from the same lot, I don't think that matters. The installation videos on both the Home Depot site, and the manufacturer's site demonstrate a typical installation with no mention of the irregular size or shape. They're shown tapping the clips into place, the clip locations in the tiles I bought are way bigger that the clips, so if the clip slips crooked as you try to put the adjoining tile in place, the tile won't go, and if you hit it with a mallet as suggested, you run the risk of damaging the tile since the clip had slipped to the wrong location. What should be an easy job is a real pain. I wish The quality was as advertised, I'd buy them again, but as they are I can't recommend them.
