Product Overview

Made in North America from 100% recycled rubber, Envirotile has saved approximately 3 million tires from being sent to the landfill. Due to the nature of recycled materials, the tire rubber will vary from tile to tile. This variance results in each tile's naturally unique color as well as size, equaling up to 1/4 in. size difference from tile to tile. Envirotile is a floating floor system with a patented clipping system (sold separately) that provides the ease of a do-it-yourself application. These tiles can be installed on top of any existing hard surface such as wood, concrete, and patio tiles. The floating floor system is an investment; it is simple to pick up your tiles and move them to another location.

  • For use on balconies, patios, rooftops, decks, child play areas and more to create a beautiful floor
  • Each tile weighs approximately 8 lbs., making it light enough to carry by hand but heavy enough to stay put in place
  • Recycled rubber tiles are noise absorbing and anti-fatigue
  • Tiles are weather and frost resistant and do not have to be removed during the winter
  • Non-skid and impact absorbing
  • Easy DIY installation using patented connector clips, see installation guide and video for step-by-step instructions
  • Size variance, rotating the tiles side by side to find the best fit will help to alleviate variance issues
  • $3.11/ sq. ft. equivalent

Customer Questions & Answers

Do they absorb heat?

Asked by: Jen
Yes. As others have said, they don't get hot.. The issue I had was that they expand and contract with the heat more than I thought. Would recommend using a lot more of the connectors and putting an edge strip along the outside to keep them from shifting. The connector instructions tell you to connect the outside tiles but let the inner ones float. Once I installed more connectors, things are better.

How thick are these and do they interlock? Finally, are there any light colors available?

Asked by: Bill
They are supposed to interlock with little 'clips' that fit under each corner attaching the tiles to adjacent tiles. In my experience, the tiles are not made within stringent enough guidelines to their expected size and shape (square) and they do not interlock as designed without modifying the tiles.

Is there an adisive to help stick these tiles to concret patios?

First time we power washed these for cleaning while just using the clips the floor moved. Over months of blowing with blower to remove leaves the leaves and clips got under tiles.
Asked by: charles
We just received ours today -- 110 tiles! For us the clips were useless -- wouldn't line up with the next tile and just a big headache. So we called Home Depot for an adhesive to use instead. They recommended a product called Roberts adhesive that is good for rubber too. We are just going to put it on the corners to hold them down because they're already laid down without the clips and I don't want to pick them all up again! Looks nice though.

Was going to use this for a dirt area where concrete was removed along the house. Must use stones and paver sand to build a base and make sure it's on a flat surface (dig 3-4 inches into the dirt to place - then lay stones and then sand). The biggest issue is that I have a dog and these get HOT HOT HOT HOT if they are in direct sunlight. I even burned my foot on them just testing them out. There is no way I can safely put these down where the concrete was removed and know that my dog isn't going to burn his paws when he walks along the house. These are great in a shaded area. I will have to return these and find a cooler alternative.

Do not buy if you want these tiles to be attached together using the clips. The clips are not long enough to reach the holes they are supposed to go in on the tiles, and the way that it is designed, simply using a hammer to hit them in to place does not work.

We have tried everything to make our ugly cement patio look good: paint, stain, rugs, indoor/outdoor carpet etc., -- there was always something wrong with what we used or it didn't last. We saw these at Home Depot and decided to go for it -- just what we wanted only a little more expensive since we need 110 of them. Watched the video 3 times so we'd get it right, got all the supplies assembled and got to work. Took me an hour to do 1 row! Why? Because those clips refused to line up with the previous tile and click together. Somehow I got 1 row to work -- my knees were sore, my back tired and I was very frustrated -- it was not as easy as the lady in the video made it look! After reading the other reviews I figured out that the tiles weren't the same size. The directions say to turn the tile around to get the right fit -- why would I want to do that? The pattern would be all messed up. So, we packaged all the clips back up to return and just laid the tiles down, with the pattern even and nothing to hold them together. I think we'll add a spot of adhesive on the corners of the outside tiles to hold all the others in place. It looks so much better now - much better than the cement - and hope they hold up as well as they are supposed to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good, durable to lots of foot traffic. Expensive if covering a large area. We placed it on a short walkway leading to an inground pool as a trial to see if we wanted to invest in enough of the tiles to surround the pool. Well, NO. It does look good and is super durable. Also, stays in place and never had to be adjusted or shifted. But, hot, hot, hot. Not a good product for lots of barefoot traffic. Much hotter than the concrete. Great for walkways where shoes are usually being worn or shaded.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Enviro Tile HD has a great concept...HOWEVER; the store display is limited to two colors. If you go to the online store, you will find a couple other colors. I was interested in getting the grey...I had to special order one box of 4 just to see the color...when it arrived it was charcole NOT grey. S & H charges are outrageous. You spend $279 per box and S & H is $100. Yikes. I decided to accept the terracotta color from our local HD...be aware...even though they say they are 18 x 18. They are irregular in size - frustrating! Like I said in the beginning, the concept is great - hard to go wrong with recycled rubber

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with... After considering cement pavers, calculating weight, amount of sand needed & installation we decided to go with this lightweight alternative and were very pleased with the product. It required less sand than cement pavers and were lighter. The best thing about them is that they were easily cut with a standard utility razor knife.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ecotiles I bought these to put on two roof decks over torch-down. They are relatively easy to install (with one caveat) and even easy to cut for the necessary trimmed edges. Most of the time the coloring was fairly consistent, tho when I got some from another branch it was apparently a different batch as the color mix was noticeably different. There is also an occasional and noticeable difference in a tile size (up to 1/2") so if you end up w/ one of those in a row it can mess up the whole alignment - I've had to go back and replace the 'off' one to keep things looking nice. They are really dense but somewhat cushy, nice under the feet. These have only been laid for a month so don't have any long-term opinions yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice paver, but hard to cut These pavers are well made and easy to use - provided you don't have to cut them, or only need to cut straight lines. I didn't have any issue with size or color variation. I used them for a curved patio, and tried to cut them with EVERYTHING (hack saw, utility knife, skil saw, angle grinder, etc.) Strangely enough, a tomato knife worked best, but required a LOT of manual effort. Extremely frustrating. The angle grinder was useful for straight cuts, though it really melted its way through the paver moreso than cut it. I'd use them again, but only for rectangular patios.
