I really like the idea of getting to view a screen with somebody on the other side of the door. A lot easier than using the standard peep hole. It is very easy to install. It took me 15 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. Most of that time was trying to get the screw back in the bracket. There are a couple parts left over because of the thickness of the door. Instructions could be a little better. It doesn't show which way the cable is to connect to the viewer, but common sense should help there. A small phillips screwdriver is all you will need to install it. It does come with batteries. The picture could be better on which way the batteries go in. The batteries that were sent with it, I couldn't find the + and - ends on them, but could finally make out the way they are installed after using a magnifing glass on the picture. A light comes on the viewer when it is time to replace the batteries. The image on the viewer on mine isn't focused very well or isn't very crisp, but you can tell who it is when it is someone you know. I did remove the clear plastic protection cover over the lense too. I went online to see if there was anyway to focus or adjust, but couldn't find a site to help. Over all I still think it was worth getting and using. Still easier than looking through the old peep hole. I included pictures of the old one' view and new one and how it looks when viewing someone outside the door.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HeWhoDoesHisOwnLaundry The peep hole goes high-tech.
Given the relentless pace of electronics miniaturization, a product like this was only a matter of time and a source of "Why didn't I think of that?" head-smacking among geeks and nerds. With its fairly wide view and good-sized screen, even someone who's too short to see through a peep hole at the same height will be able to see who's at the door. The focus could be a tad sharper but we're not talking HD here, but it's still sharp enough to make a face recognizable.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PapawJeff A few dollars more and could have had a WIFI Camera
If you dont have WIFI and are not a computer user, yet looking for a modern upgrade from a standard door viewer, this may be a good product for you.
Just replace the existing or drill for a new viewer and put this into place.
Looks pretty much like a regular viewer on the outside and a small viewing screen on the inside.
But if you have WIFI, an actual wireless camera would be better. Then you can check who's at the front door from your chair, or as a matter of fact, from anywhere.

Waited a week for this item and it was DOA. Returned it. Will not reorder as it came from California and apparently the rough trip is too much for the device.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nate Good Item Misleading Title
First, this product is (not wireless) There is a wire that goes from the viewer to the lens, So if you don't have a peep hole viewer already in the door you will have to drill the hole for it. So far the battery life is fair to good. Very clear picture and the viewing angle is good.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by freelyelee Modern Update for Peep Hole
This is a handy little product that's a great way to improve the view from your door with minimal effort (assuming you already have a peep hole installed).
- Ships with door camera viewer (secured on inside of door) and peep hole with camera wire.
- Sturdy door viewer with a sleek look offers good imagery at this price point.
If you're replacing an existing peephole, installation is straightforward. (20 mins or less) Run the camera wire through the hole for your existing peephole, secure to door camera viewer, then secure door camera viewer to door.
- The picture is pretty solid for a camera at this price point. Overall good value. (Goes without saying but at night you will need a porch light or some other form of light, this isn't a night vision camera).
Good to know:
The viewer is a decent size (not huge, but not tiny either) so it does stand out on the door. It's modern looking and sleek, but it IS very noticeable, so keep that in mind. (Because it's not wireless, you do need to have it secured to the door itself, and cant secure on a wall as you might do otherwise).
