Product Overview

This space saving humidifier is sure to compliment any decor. Our humidifiers work by adding invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick. Maintaining proper humidity levels between 30-50% in your home/office/workplace has been scientifically proven to help prevent the flu and allergies. Proper humidity hydrates your skin, alleviates dry eyes, scratchy throats and can reduce snoring. With a doctor's approval increased humidity can reduce asth mA and allergy symptoms. It also protects fine furniture, musical instruments, collectibles and wood floors. Proper humidity makes you feel warmer allowing you to lower your thermostat setting which will save money.

6 Gal. Space-Saver Humidifier for 1900 sq. ft. is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product good product, works on 1000 sq ft apartment very well. filters are not of real good quality will not last a full season, a little pricey but works better than most, very quiet on low fan setting, located in hallway next to furnace intake and keeps whole apartment with the same humidity on low setting, very easy to service just a box that the fan sits in with the filter/wick in the box, will run down to less than a gallon before auto shutoff.then just take to the tub and clean with a rag or brush. have to be careful to get the fan/top part lined up with the bottom as the tank tends to flex.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the humidifier you want. I've been buying home humidifiers for 42 years. This is the humidifier you want. It gets the humidity up to 50% to 60% easily and has a very large tank that is super easy to fill WITHOUT lifting and lugging a heavy water tank bottle (not fun). You just roll this unit on it's wheels over to the sink, remove a small plastic grate plate and either fill it with your extendable sink sprayer or fill a couple of large Rubbermaid pitchers full of water, dump them in and add a tad of bacteriostat. Yes, the fan is loud set on high but you seldom use the high setting because you don't have to run it on high for long. Once you get the humidity up (and it doesn't take this unit long to do that) you turn it on low and it maintains nicely. The low fan setting is VERY QUIET. I have one unit in my bedroom that sits 5 feet from my head and I'm a light sleeper...zzzzzz. I have another unit in the living/dining/kitchen area. The auto humidity works great on this machine, turning the unit on and off based on the humidity level you select. I bought my first two of these two years ago from iAllergy and they still work great here in the extreme dry winter air of Minnesota. I'm on Home Depot's website today to buy multiple units, six of them, so I'm sure to have one of these machines for many years to come (I'm 54 hopefully these will last the rest of my life because this is the best humidifier there is). I'm also here because I want to be able to drive to Home Depot and return one in case I get one that doesn't work (instead of having to ship one back ordered online from iAllergy). iAllergy's are a few bucks cheaper but the ease of returning a faulty unit to Home Depot makes it well worth it to me because I hate to assemble, disassemble, and repack stuff in order to return ship it if there is a problem. But I doubt that will be the case. These work. Don't let your filter dry out or it won't work as well after that. Change filters monthly or every 6 weeks. Wipe out the unit with two teaspoons of bleach in a gallon of water when you change filters. If you have extremely hard water, change the filter monthly. Keeping the filter changed reduces the amount of time the fan has to run to keep the humidity level up, thereby increasing the life of the unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy for the money. Reading reviews on this thing I was skeptical. But the convenience of the large capacity water tank was the clincher for me. I am not sure what the complaint about the fan is. The fan sounds like a fan. Hard to find a fan on its highest setting and pushing lots of air, quiet. Its certainly not the motor thats loud its just the air being pulled. Even on its high setting unless you are sitting on it its not bad at all. On the low setting its super quiet. I recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and produces lots of moisture I've had this for 1 month running almost continuously. Its output is high- incredibly high on the high fan speed but very loud. The lower fan speed is much quieter and still moves a good amount of moisture. The evaporative design is very simple since it's just a reservoir of water with a wick sticking out of it that the fan blows air through. The benefits of having a humidified home during the winter months when the heating is on are noticeable from day one. No complaints. Home Depot had a good price too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this humidifier! Works great in our downstairs (~1200 ft2). Between the forced air, wood stove, and pellet stove, our house has a very low humidity level. This humidifier has made a huge difference! I am planning to change out our current humidifier upstairs with another Essick 6-gallon whole house humidifier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be made better for 120 bucks!! Works Great! Wheels are Great, Flimsy Plastic Walls. Plunger doo hickey for auto shut off/refill is styrofoam attached to a plastic stick, just a bad design but I run it constantly anyway. Humidifies the house wonderfully and even running 24/7 with the low fan setting I don't have to fill it up every day. You have to order the Bacteriostat from this website they do not carry it in the store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good console humidifier replacement for Kenmore. Previously, had a Kenmore console humidifier (like 4'x3') which lasted over 10 years: the motor finally gave up, and the filters which were freestanding failed too quickly. This new Essick has these attributes, which I found important: + front bucket fillable, as I like to use a bucket to fill it quickly, and 6gal capacity, lasts over 24hrs (on low). + filter is inserted into external plastic frame, which is better than freestanding or internal frame filter. + external humidity sensor (attached to plug wire) + acceptable fan level on low. + smaller/convenient size + white color, not yellowed plastic as in picture - humidity sensor reads high, compared to own humidistat. - overfill hole, allows water to leak out if too much water: should be tube attachment to allow a catch-can; so be careful not to accidental overfill. - can only disassemble (i.e. replace filter) when empty, because empty-float pole is difficult to fit when full; when filter stops wicking, this will force you to empty (and suppose time to clean it).
