CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 98 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use!!!! We have 3 of these Humidifiers in our Acoustic Guitar Showroom (the entire top floor of the store) where we HAVE TO maintain minimum humidity levels of at least 40%. They are easy to refill with 2 seperate water containers for ease of handeling and they automatically run only when necessary, depending on the weather. With over 500 Guitars depending on them, we are confident that they will perform (we have had one unt for 3 years now with no problems). March 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked for just under 5 years The humidifier worked well for almost 5 years until the fan motor gave up. I did have to raise the left side so that the left bottle would empty. The housing was very cheaply made and the top door broke off at the hinges. I couldn't find a way to keep mold from growing on the filter media which would usually happen after a few months. I tried the tablets but they didn't work so it was just easier (but more expensive) to replace the filter once during the winter. I purchased a different model this time around because of the poor housing of this unit. It was a hassle moving it from the basement to the main floor twice a year. But I do recommend it for it's humidification. January 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mind of it's own This was the only unit available. When I got it home it was not using the left tank at all. It emptied the right tank and shut down. A call to the manufacturer solved that issue. They had me elevate the left front wheel slightly. It's designed to use the left tank after the right tank is empty. From that point on it would empty one or the other tank at times then shut down. Occasionaly it empties both. It's loud on the high setting. The auto setting does work as advertised. If I get a couple of seasons out of it I'll be lucky. If I can find a better quality unit I will replace this one. Positive note; the nose bleeds have stopped. When it works, it does humidify the whole house. Be aware of the down side before you buy, cheaply constructed. March 1, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Yes it works...but there are issues I live on the top floor of an apartment building that is heated by radiators. The result is that, in the winter, the average temperature in my unit is in the 80's and the air becomes extremely dry (humidity levels in the 20% range). In the past few seasons I have gone through several smaller $50 dollars range 1 to 2 room humidifiers but found them to be unable to make a dent in how unbearable dry our apartment is. I decided it was time to call in the big guns and purchased this unit on a recommendation from a colleague. Good news - it works! No question this unit has made a huge impact. I run the unit non-stop all night and the average humidity levels are now in the 70% range which makes sleeping much more pleasant. As an added bonus it cools our bedroom down as well which is quite nice. Bad news - there are a few issues with this unit... 1) Tank draining. When I read the reviews on this unit I saw several reviews on other sites where the user complained that the tanks were not draining and they were forced to return it. I had the same problem unit I figured out the cause. If you look in the manual it suggests that the unit has to be on a flat surface in order to work. I found this to be untrue. The way the unit works is there is a large white plastic pole in the back which floats when the water is present which then pushes onto a contact in the fan unit which turns the fans on and off. I found that by raising the front of the unit (using a couple of books) keeps the machine running more reliably. Also, when you are putting in a full tank you have to make sure that the plunger on the tank is hitting the "pin" on the floor of the unit. You can usually tell because you hear the water start to drain out. 2) Poor tank design - The unit holds two tanks which are a bit cumbersome to fill but the bigger issue is how they drain. It is supposed to drain from the right bottle first and then the left. I haven't quite figured out how this part works but all I can say is don't mess with it (like, don't re-fill the right bottle when the left is half full because it won't reset). 3) Frequent re-fills. This could be a result of how dry my unit is and the fact I run it all night but I have to refill the bottles almost daily. 4) Odor - After a couple of weeks I started to get a musty smell coming from the unit. I added some vinegar to the water which helped but be careful, if you add too much (like I did - add 1 tablespoon) your place will smell like a British Fish and Chips shop. In conclusion - if you desperately need humidity this unit will do the trick. Just be prepared to struggle with the unit's quirkiness. January 13, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Is as advertised This moist air humidifier does what you want it to - adds humidity to large areas. I live in a townhouse and it easily gets the humidity level to 45% throughout the entire place. The unit itself is attractive with its faux woodgrain plastic. I'm very happy with the overall performance, but there are some quirks. Here they are: When I first fired the humidifier up it would always tell me that it was still dry. I couldn't PUT any more water in it. Come to find out that the sensor had moved out of place. Be careful... it's easy to do. Next, the two water tanks are cumbersome to fill. The placement of the fill holes is not the most convenient. Lastly, when you set the unit to auto, prepare for loud fan noise until it gets near the desired humidity level. I discovered it was better to leave the fan on low and let it gradually humidify. It gets there eventually. December 27, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Humidifier for our home! Does add moisture to a dry environment. No more Sinus problems. Easy to refill and operate. September 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product works well, but need to refill it daily. Glad I got it. November 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent Enough I bought this thing about a year or two ago. After reading all the reviews below I had to chuckle...Cumbersome to refill, right tank left tank, shaky draining, uneven base actuall helping, loud fan, etc...It's all true and then some. At least this thing is consistently average...I finally broke mine yesterday. I frequently found that picking up and dropping the full tanks in the slot helped located the drainage pin the floor. It's just a bump designed to hit the spring loaded water release mechanism. I had already super glued two tiny rubber stoppers to try and keep the flow going...Sometimes it wouldn't drain at all and sometimes it would start and stop leaving the flashing "F1"...the fan isn't all that loud and the product does the job, but it's just cheaply enough made to tick you off...For the price point it should be of better quality, though I do like the look of it...At the end of the day, I'm probably going to buy the same thing again even though if I find something better I won't hesitate to upgrade...There aren't many decent furniture like humidifiers that don't leave "snow" all over your room...If $150 isn't that much to you, buy it...If it is, keep looking...I can't say I didn't get my money's worth, but the aggravation quotient is fairly high...Buyer beware...
