Customer Questions & Answers

Do you have a medicine cabinet and mirror to match this vanity?

Asked by: Donna1
We installed a 38" matching mirror. Looks very nice together. Check out the photo. Model # ETGM3638 Internet/Catalog SKU# 203630862

Is the backsplash attached to the counter top?

Asked by: Anonymous
You have to attach the backsplash. After you attach the vanity to the wall using 2.5" screws (be sure to acrew into a stud and becareful to not drill into a pipe!) you can get some black silicone caulk and apply to the back and bottom of the backsplash; silicone is actually an adhesive and will last the lifetime of the vanity, if applied correctly.

Can the back of this vanity be removed so it can be installed over existing maze of pipes?

Our plumbing was designed for another sink. Would like to avoid having pipes embedded into wall. Can the back of this vanity be removed and simply installed flush with wall, over existing pipe configuration?
Asked by: ald565
I had a similar problem. The back is made of thin wood and cuts very easily. I used a jab saw with coarse teeth and quickly cut it by hand. That made a rough cut, which I don't like, but it's under the sink, so it's not visible. However, for the next vanity, I plan to use a jigsaw with a fine blade and cut the hole more carefully.

Does the countertop come attached to the vanity when it's shipped? If so, how is it attached?

I would like to purchase a different color vanity and sink and want to make sure I am able to take the granite off easily.
Asked by: Martha
Yes, the countertop is sturdily attached to the vanity. Also, the undermounted sink is attached (which is not the case with the 49" model).

Estates 37 in. Vanity in Rich Mahogany with Granite Vanity Top in Black is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 60.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don' t hesitate to purchase this! Our vanity arrived within one week of ordering it and we couldn't be more pleased. This vanity is very well made and a beautiful piece of furniture. The details are amazing...the picture just doesn't do it justice! My husband was flabbergasted at what a great piece this is. I think Home Depot should have one one display in their stores...I'll bet it would fly out the doors. Don't hesitate to purchase this...the wood finish is deep and rich and the granite counter top is gorgeous!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine furnature quality I went from Home Depot to Lowe's and back to the same associate at Home Depot to match price against a Lowe's product. Home Depot didn't carry it but put together an online order on this sink for only a few dollars more than a much cheaper design 'manufactured' wood cabinet and optional manufactured marble sink top. They took the time to find the best match for the money I was willing to spend. It's actually more of high quality furniture then bathroom cabinet and sink. The top is solid granite (including a matching granite back splash) with an under-mount porcelain sink. It is solid wood with a nicely done side to side felt lined drawer on the bottom for towels. It has three per-drilled holes for faucet. If you have baseboard molding you will have to cut out the cabinet width to fit it flush to the back wall. My installer made a stencil tracing around the back legs and cut the base board to match so it appears to still go behind the cabinet, but ..... I'm now considering two of the larger sink vanities to use in remodeling the master bath. I did save money on the mirror by buying one from Martha Stewart Living (also at Home Depot) for $45 rather than nearly $200 for the matching mirror for the set. IMHO, it looks even better. I got the black and burnished copper look sink hardware and it's a great look all together. Jim M

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good durable product This product is definitely a high quality product. It looks good and appears to be very durable. A downside is the size. We purchased this online without viewing it in person. It's a bit too tall, I have to stretch to reach over into the bowl while using it (granted I'm only 5'6"). Also the unit is extremely heavy making the installation very difficult if the plumbing supply or drain lines feed through the bottom. The drawer is removable but not easily so. Unrelated to the unit itself the delivery driver was about 3 hours past the delivery window and never made a call. He was rude and generally did not want to be doing his job. But the delivery was free so I can't complain too much about that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised I have to say that when I walked into my local Home Depot and realized that I couldn't find what I was looking for, I was a little discouraged. The Home Depot employee that assisted me at the store, then suggested I go online to check out the merchandise there. I must admit that I was VERY leery of making a purchase online without actually being able to touch the product; however upon receiving this beautiful piece along with the matching mirror, I almost squealed with excitement! Since it has been installed, I can't seem to pass by my newly remodeled bathroom without stopping to look at how beautiful this vanity is! I love how gorgeous and elegant it is, but more importantly, it is very sturdy, well built, and the hidden drawer it has inside, gave me the extra room I needed for my personal belongings. My family came over to see it and are now considering purchasing the same one...copy cats!! :-) I can't say that I blame them as I would DEFINITELY recommend this piece to anyone who was considering purchasing. I am very glad I purchased this item and look forward to continue shopping online! Thanks Home Depot!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One AWESOME Looking Vanity !!! I special ordered the Pegasus 36” vanity for my bathroom from the Home Depot last year. The vanity was packaged like it was made of glass. Unbelievable, how well this beautiful very well crafted piece of furniture was packed. It would be impossible for anything inside of the box to break. And believe me you the pictures of this vanity are nothing compared to the actual piece itself. To put it simply it is one awesome piece of furniture. Almost too nice to have in a house with a six and nine year old. Everything about this purchase went better than anticipated. If you want a very well built solid wood ( looks like hand carved ) vanity in your bathroom, well than the only way to go is with the Pegasus Rich Mahogany Granite counter top vanity!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful When I unpacked the vanity, all looked great except the bottom trim on the left side door. The trim looked like it was a bad piece and was stain and field in with caulking dark brown. The drawer is real hard to pull out. I still have it sitting in my front entry hall debating to send it back. Not sure what the QC person if any inspects the vanities before they leave the shop. I'm a QC weld inspector and value what I do for a living and as an inspector would have red flagged the item. I guess since the item is always a direct ship maybe Pegasus QC feels customers will live with the defects. Sad that we as customers are faced with the bad and poor workmanship that is shipped.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems I would recommend this vanity, but mine had problems. Price: great. I got it on sale $557 including tax (free shipping). Shipping: Good. Had no choice over what day or time, but it was delivered when scheduled. Packaging: Good. Lots of cardboard, styrofoam, and wood support. It weighs over 200 pounds. The bowl is packaged and shipped inside the vanity and must have pushed against the back of the vanity enough to loosen three screws. I just installed three longer/larger screws. Quality: Poor. My counter top granite has a 7 inch diameter spot near the faucet which is 1/16 inch thinner than the rest. It did not get polished. The top also has bowl installation threads drilled and glued in the bottom. Because it is thinner, one drill hole went all the way through. They patched with epoxy but a pinhole remains visible. I'm disappointed this counter top passed quality control. The wood quality is good. Installation: Poor. I kind of figured I would have to move some plumbing. The shelf is approximately 14 inches from floor, depending on level adjustment. The bottom of the P trap must be higher than this. If not, you either move the P trap drain up (cut into wall and cut into drain vent) or you cut into the wood shelf and back of drawer. I moved the plumbing drain up. My plumbing is through the wall. If you have plumbing through the floor, you may not want this vanity. So my problem is the counter top. Just have Home Depot replace the top, right? Tried and can't. The factory won't ship one part. It is all or nothing. Box it up and return? Well I tore up the box to get the vanity out. I could return the whole thing to Home Depot, but I like my $557 price. Comparing to everything else, this vanity looks the best. I will order another vanity, trade the counter top, and return. Problem now is the factory is out of stock. Won't make any for three months. So I will have a half completed project for three months.
