I have needed a mallet for some time. It has already been put to good use. I am glad that I spotted them to remind how much I needed one.

It is a well balanced and safe hammer that worked perfectly without damaging materials and surface cosmetics of the shed. Useful then, and will be useful for other projects.

As another reviewer posted, I, too, am replacing some of my tools with American-made versions. And while this replacement wasn't simply due to the fact this mallet is made in America, I am glad there is a great company like Estwing still making tools here.
My old rubber mallet was as hard as a framing hammer due to it being dry-rotted. As well, it was starting to fall apart. Every time I used it it chunks would break off and there wasn't much left of the flat face or even the edges.
This mallet is perfect for my needs. It has a face that is soft enough to not mar any surface on which it may be used but is dense enough to get the job done.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryan Great American-made tool
I've been replacing all my tools with American-made and I am not affiliated with any tool manufacturer. I had a couple of options when it came to hammers but I chose Estwing because they offer a full range of high-quality hammers and striking tools for a good price. If you're looking for a new hammer, I strongly recommend an Estwing product.

Good weight to just tap things in place, but enough meat to drive pieces together without marring any surfaces. Use it more than I thought and it now lives closer to my main bench
