A little larger than a hatchet a little smaller than a full size axe. Comes with a nice sheath. Is a serious tool and will be a great fireside asset. Best of all it is a Estwing - one solid piece of steel that will last forever.

The perfect camping, everyday, multipurpose axe. This thing is well made, with a ton of grip to the nylon-vinyl handle. I just used it to hack out an old tree stump about 10 inches in diameter. Hacked through the roots and stump with ease. Comes with a nice leather sheath to protect the blade. You will have no problem chopping firewood, hacking away thick shrubs/roots, and I personally prefer the 16 inch size versus anything bigger. It makes this axe much more versatile than a larger wood splitter. Great axe.

Awesome chopping tool. I chopped down a huge chunk of a tree trunk. it worked great. very sharp blade. be advise to chop woods or softer object only. I accidently hit a metal piece that was lodged in a wood and totally dented the blade. I had to sharpen it back to shape.

This bad boy will take everything you give it and tear it to shreds. It will hip-hop-be-bop its way through any log, branch, or 4x4 with little effort exerted. This is a must have for any guy or woman wanting a tool to make them feel more manly!

I purchased this axe to help split small pieces of wood into kindle for our fireplace. Extremely solid and well made.

Great Ax! Glad I bought the longer handle, which is easier to use especially since I have longer arms. This ax rides under the back seat and comes in handy to remove all types of brush. I have gotten more use out of this purchase than I could have imagined. Glad I finally broke down and bought one.

I had one of these and accidentally left it behind on a camping trip. Because I liked it so much, I went and bought another one as soon as I could! I like the all-metal construction of this axe, and the grip does a good job of taking out most of the vibration. I'd still recommend wearing gloves when using it, though.

i was not sure which i would prefer, so yesterday i bought both this & the 26" camper's model.
after a few minutes of practice swings (with the sheath still on) i definitely prefer this one.
the thin blade is great for chopping kindling, would also be good for turning a fresh deer into spare ribs. well balanced. good length for swinging at the elbow. (it's not a splitting axe, after all)
years ago i bought an Estwing hammer at a yard sale. it must have been 250 years old. it was all rust & there were chunks whacked out of the handle. indestructible. what was left of the grip was still securely attached, they are not kidding when they say 'permanently bonded' That hammer saw years of use, building tree houses & destroying Hot Wheels cars.
