I had to countersink hundreds of siding nails that the contractor left exposed to rust. Doing it from a ladder was really tough with a long, awkward framing hammer. To get a sufficient swing, you risk losing balance backward. This compact little beauty worked great. The head is so heavy that it drives nails right in with a small swing. Now I prefer it for all nailing tasks. It has a nice, authoritative, dead way of hitting with less bounce and vibration transmitted to your forearm. The short swing is more accurate, so you need less skill. It's also less noisy. On a ladder, it's safer not to have a sharp claw aimed toward your face. Probably any DIYer would prefer it to a standard framing hammer. I can especially recommend it for DIY women who are stymied by macho framing hammers. It is much better and less frustrating than buying a small claw hammer that is too light to drive nails.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 5 Star Something is wrong. Won't let me select 5th star. Anyway. Amazing tool. I'm a female, 5'4" and 120lbs. Was able to handle with ease and impact to concrete from drilling hammer never shocked my wrists. That was important since I have slim wrists. Slammed through 4" of concrete with ease!!

Steel Drilling hammer was perfect for my needs with an excellent "gripping" handle that also absorbed most of the vibration from striking and did not slip at all. This hammer is also balanced very well and the size allows it to be carried an most tool boxes.

I needed it to pound in some metal fence posts supports. Worked like a charm. I also used it to drive in some rebar into railroad ties. It is not overly heavy, but has enough heft to do the job.
