Its New England head design provides two very different striking surfaces, while the face offers a fully polished, beveled surface to reduce chipping. This blacksmith hammer is supported by a 14 in. jacketed, textured, yellow fiberglass handle that allows for heavier blows in settings where there is limited swing, helping you get the job done quickly and easily.

However, I must admit, when I use for prolonged periods, my fingers hurt. I always thought that the handle was too small. Recently, I bought a Stanley 4 pounder. The handle on the Stanley is thicker and more contoured. I'll probably never use this Estwing again, even though it's a good hammer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for demo work Bought to take down a 22' brick chimney. This hammer saw a lot of action and did the job. Has a good square strick and swing range. The shorter handle made it nice to work in attic as space was limited
