Pet Lover Upright Vacuum is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT I have been cleaning houses professionally for 10 years now this was the first vacuum I purchased the suction is amazing I love the extra long hose the filter is washable and easy to clean the brush roller automatically shuts off extremely lightweight and durable the hose is clear so it can be taken apart and cleaned out if necessary also there's a bottom door on the brush roller head making that also easy to clean out the only thing I would change on this vacuum is maybe a little longer cord

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the home with pets. Several features combine to strongly suck up pet hair and dust. The filter compartment isolates and holds the debris. This is a powerful machine, lightweit and maneuverable. The adjustable handle moves from floor to stairs, from short to tall operator. The only suggestion I have is to make the filter easier to clean. I recommend this vacuum, and am satisfied I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little vacuum This is not my first Eureka vacuum. My last one was so old that it finally stopped working. I was perfectly fine with that because the price is so good that getting another one is no problem. It works so well that I have to constantly empty the container because of all the pet hair it gets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great vac but: refurbished VS new been using this for over 1/2 a year & wondering why they ask for a review just now...this is actually a REFURBISHED replacement for another one i bought new & had for at least 8 years, which i loved except for: see "the ugly" below...the handle broke off below the handle circle but i still use it, tho less, upstairs - it's a pretty good piece of equipment aside from a few major failings... THE GOOD: pretty powerful but won't suck your lighter weight rugs into it's maw; both floor & attachment settings work well & changing is a super easy second; not too terribly heavy to drag around; red light comes on when the floor roller stops turning (due to hair or string or whatever is caught up in it, so you can flip it & remove the obstruction) large dirt container: washable filter (or used to be available-not sure now); long cord; THE BAD: the pet roller on my 1st one was fabulous! but this one doesn't turn under pressure; previous vac took a lot of hair to stop-up the floor roller but this one stops turing with very little motivation (a little hair, a string or two) THE UGLY: cleaning the filter!! i hate it! i take it to my outside garbage can & knock the piled up wooly mess of dirt off - if i don't mean to use it again immediately, AND i have the time, i use a slightly pointed stick or picker from my nutcracker set to ream out the filter flaps because they do not give you any tool...then i use my garden hose to blast house is large AND i have rugs AND i have animals... so this needs doing way too often...the recommendation is for a new never knows about the refurbs!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some good things/Some not so good things When we purchased this vacuum, it was with pet hair in mind. We have since found several other criteria for our next vacuum, that need to be there in addition to pet hair removal. As far as pet hair goes, we have 3 cats, and one large perpetually shedding dog. This vacuum does pick up pet hair, and in fact does a good job with vacuum suction in general. Sort of a pain having to switch dial from floor to carpet, but it does work, and makes a difference, but it is near the bottom of the vacuum, and you tend to forget to switch it, and then wonder why it is not picking up. Also not convenient for the very tall, i.e. my husband. It is light, and the see through canister is a good thing to have. There are a few things though, that would discourage us from purchasing another one of these, and our friends did agree with us when we asked them, just to be sure we were not being unreasonable. Our main issue with this vacuum is the way the canister is removed, and reinserted, AND that the dirt debris gets caught in the accordion filter pleats, as there is nothing to stop it from gathering around it, and filling in the grooves of the filter! It then requires scraping (but not too vigorous) between each and every accordion pleat in the 360 degree filter. Then you really cannot get it all out. It is a major pain, and we have never had a vacuum designed in this way. Prior to having to clean all of the accordion pleats in the filter, you have to remove the top of the canister, which when new is almost impossible, and then when used a bit it is still very difficult to turn it, and lift it out without dirt and dust flying all over the area that you are trying to take it off, not to mention all over your face. It is way too tight, but worse than that, it is the most difficult canister to empty that we have ever had, and we have 3 more vacuums for various things, and they are all WAY easier! They are bigger, and heavier though, and because I am partially disabled, wanted a light one. We did have one that worked great, but because of the copious pet hair, finally gave up the ghost. Sadly it is no longer made. I am sorry to say that we will probably be looking for a replacement in a short time, as it is that annoying. It's unfortunate however, as this does pick up dirt, hair, and other debris almost as good as the larger ones we have. When looking at vacuums in the store, we have seen a couple of other brands with a similar elimination system, that we won't be buying. I can't believe any testing done of these machines did not show this as a problem. We will not be buying one online again, unless we have already looked at it at the store. We do appreciate you asking how we felt about it, and feel we needed to be honest. If you had not asked we likely would have just gone to another brand, since generally no one seems to actually listen when you write them.
