0.5 HP Cast Iron Sump Pump is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does as advertised Bought this pump to replace 1 of 3 existing pumps in the basement of multi unit condos. This pump does what it's supposed to do without the noise or the heat of the other 2 pumps. The only thing you hear is the water as it's being pumped out. The other 2 existing pumps sound like a washing machine when they come out. This is important to me because the units are under several condos and could be heard by all. I'll be replacing the remaining 2 soon with these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cast Iron Sump Pump I replaced an old, weak and decrepit 1/3 HP sump pump in my basement with this Everbilt 1/2 HP cast iron sump pump. I had my Father install it for me in the existing sump pit, using most of the existing assembly already in place with a few replacement fixtures. The installation didn't take long, and the instructions are easy to follow, and pretty much self explanatory. The instructions give a list of parts you will need for installation if you're starting from scratch. The rainy season isn't here yet, so I wanted to install it before I actually need it. The Everbilt sump pump is made of heavy cast iron, is sealed and has no plastic parts, except the vertical float, and has a handle to help lift it in and out of the sump pit. It also has a 10 foot heavy duty cord, which is a good length and should be taken into account, my old sump pump cord barely reached the electrical outlet above in the rafters of my basement. I tested it out and turned a hose on into the sump pit, and it kept up fine, and pumped out the water fast and efficiently. I have an old house, with no floor drain, and a rock foundation, so a flooded basement during heavy rains is just routine, and I'm sure this sump pump will keep up according to our testing. The box states that the pump needs a basin at least an 11 inches in diameter, the instructions say that it needs at least an 18 inch diameter basin. The pump measures roughly 11" wide by 11" tall. I installed the pump in the existing sump basin which is less than 18", and there were no obstructions of the float being able to move freely up and down. The instructions say the pump can also handle up to 1/2" solids, and has the capabilities for a 26 foot maximum vertical lift. Most homes if installed in a basement with a with a 10 foot vertical lift, the specifications say that it can pump 3,450 gph. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems great so far I ordered this pump off the Home Depot website and it arrived in a decent time. It replaced a different brand of pump that was with the house when we bought it. It went in in less then 10 minutes and was pumping water out of the crock in no time. Very happy with the quality and the design. The only recommendation is that Home Depot should stock it in their stores with the positive reviews I read before purchasing as opposed to the ones that they stock that have lower ratings. This is a great pump to have and don't expect any problems with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pump I have used yet. Works just as expected and better. Quiet operation and fast. Only concern I have is that the inlet is not filtered in any way with a screen or the like and the opening is large enough to pull in small rocks. In the first week of using it, it pulled one in and jammed causing it to overheat and stick on. Once I figured out what was going on, removed the rock and modified the surface of the pit to (added a flower pot base to cover the gravel bottom), it has worked like nothing even happened. A couple of months later in the rainiest season we have had in a while and it is still running like new with no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great for me! I ordered this pump for a dual purpose, and so far it has worked flawlessly. In the fall, it takes the water out of my in ground swimming pool so I can close it up for winter, and in the spring and summer - I drop it into the lake and use it to pump water to both my lawn and my garden. A very well built product!
