Product Overview

Everbilt anti-siphon frost proof sillcock assure protection against freezing and undesirable back siphoning. Because they're frost proof, they can stop outside hydrants from freezing and bursting the pipes. Plus, the anti-siphon feature protects against water siphoning back to contaminate the potable water system. Also, unlike anti-siphon attachments, which must be manually drained to prevent freezing, the integral anti-siphon design is self draining.

I have 2x6 studs in my wall and the Everbilt sillcock I bought is a 6in and with the female 90 I can't replace my sheetrock , how can I correct this .

Asked by: stumper
You can set the female 90 properly (securely) on a 2x4 cross piece. The sillcock may poke out from your brick exterior. That is fine, both of mine do. Just place some pipe insulation between the brick and the faucet flange. It is the same pipe insulation that is used on air conditioner return lines and water pipes to prevent freezing. Be sure to disconnect any hoses in the winter !

This prevents water siphoning back in to contaminate a potable water system.

1/2 in. x 6 in. Brass MPT x MHT Anti-Siphon Sillcock is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality. I preferred this brand over others because of the "heft" when I picked it up to check it out. Also, this has a metal handle vs the plastic found on others. This fit what I was after. There's no instructions for this, so it's best if you know what you're doing.

However after one Seattle winter water was continuously leaking from the handle area. That's when I found out that there is no washer repair kit for this unit. This means that I cannot fix the leak, but can only replace the unit which entails removing the house siding on an annual basis-not an ideal situation I'd say. Establish the availability of spare parts before buying, but do not buy this one.

Installed about 2 months ago and it's already streaming water. Pulled the guts out and see that one piece has just disappeared. Good thing I bought two, used the guts of the new one to fix the "old" one. Will definitely be buying another brand next time.

I installed it about a year ago and the packing leaks already. No problem, I will just tighten it a little. Wait a minute, it won't tighten. No problem, I'll just buy a new packing. The store only sells a rebuild kit...for $18!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the job at the right price The only reason that I held back on a rating of Excellent is time. I have yet to find a frost free sillcock (mandated by my town's building code) that lasts more than 4 years. So, time will tell on this one. It went in easy, and seems to work very well. After 1 or 2 New England winters, we will see. Mfgr, please create a service kit containing all the NBR pieces. You know they are the weak link!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from An embarassment to Home Depot This is a cheap freeze-proof faucet. There is no other way to describe it. I purchased this product, and noticed while screwing it into the threaded elbow that it wobbled as I turned the unit. Therefore, the threading is not centered. I then turned the water supply on and opened the faucet to find that the pointy metal handle also wobbled as it turned. Whew. Home Depot management: I am embarrassed to have such a cheap product installed at my driveway where everyone would use it and be asked time after time "why does the faucet handle wobble? Is it going to break?" I buy nearly all my home repair/maintenance products at HD. This one really irritates me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Anti-siphon valve broke and has never worked This is a piece of junk. The anti-siphon valve has been broken from day one and the facet is completely useless.
