This style roller does not have any ball bearings. Instead, they have a snap ring that connects the stem to the roller. These work okay on a single car garage door, (8'x7'- 9'x7'), but can wear quickly on larger doors. I upgrade to a 10 ball roller on every door that I install. These work okay on a single car garage door, (8'x7'- 9'x7'), but can wear quickly on larger doors. I upgrade to a 10 ball roller on every door that I install. I also put the 7' long stems on top brackets & bottom brackets so if that door ever gets hung up for whatever reason, the extra length of those rollers might be the difference between your door staying in the track or landing on your vehicle. If the rollers that you choose are labeled "sealed" in the description, then just lubricate the hinges at the pivot points & not worry about the rollers. The "sealed" rollers are self lubricating but all others can be sprayed as many times as you want. Don't forget the bearings on the upper left & upper right of door that helps the cables slide freely. This is vital for the full benefit of lubing the door. Lastly, NO AXLE GREASE. A good rule of thumb is, "If you can't spray it out of a spray bottle or aerosol can, don't put it on your garage door." Hope this helps. Read Less

I just noticed that these rollers are actually listed as 1 3/4". Other installers and manufacturers, in my many years experience, have never called them anything but 2" rollers that go on 2" track. My fault, the lingo got the better of me there. Sorry for the mistake but the other info that I gave you, I stand by. Thanks,

No, even though I understand your reasoning. 2" track gets a 2" roller on a standard sectional residential garage door. This style roller is okay for a smaller garage door but I would use a 10 ball roller on the double car garage doors, 16' or 18' wide. Home Depot will carry these online if not in store, hopefully. Ball bearing rollers, (nylon or steel) hold up to the weight of the larger doors better, Read More

Ball bearing rollers, (nylon or steel) hold up to the weight of the larger doors better, especially in the up position when the door rests on the horizontal track, above your head. I also put in the 7" long stem rollers, (still 2" though) on top and bottom of the door on both sides, so that if door has an issue in the future, the chances go way down of the door losing a roller and dropping on a vehicle and you have a better chance of securing the door and your garage until you get a tech to fix the problem. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Skip it We wary - no ball bearings just nylon rubbing against the steel shaft so life is limited. Also the width of the wheel itself is smaller than standard so the garage door wont seal as well is it may have. I'd return them but opened packages, installed and lubricated. December 19, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by These things are junk I replaced one Overhead Garage Door roller with one of these and it fell apart within five months. Visually compare them with a quality part and you will see the difference. January 17, 2012
