Our closet pole sockets do not have a weight capacity. However, we recommend using a support bracket for every 16 inches of installation.

After you slide the rod into the closed-lip socket, does the rod snap into place in the open-lip socket? Or does it just rest on the bottom of the lip so that it could easily be pulled out? Also, is there a hole drilled for a screw in either socket to screw into the closet rod? Thanks.

Answer:
Yes, the pole rests in the pole socket. It does not snap. There is not a hole drilled for a screw in either socket to screw into the closet rod.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great Easy to install. Supports the closet rod very well. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap and easy These were a great value for the price. Several months after installing them, they're holding on strong. They work much better than the cheap plastic ones installed before (just bought this house in October 2013). When the others go out, I know with what I'll replace them. March 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saved by the socket! The closet pole in wife's closet came down, but all was made well by the replacement with this socket. October 20, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great upgrade, need them sold in bulk My house was built with the plastic version of these same closet pole sockets. After 15 yrs of carrying a heavy load, several have cracked and failed (usually with a loud crash in the middle of the night). SO, now I'm on a mission to replace them all with these metal brackets. They seem to be much stronger, have a good painted finish on them and hopefully will last a lifetime. The best part is that these go in the exact same location as the old ones, no modification of the rod, etc. The alternative would be to re engineer the entire closet with new shelving, rods that don't offer much room to slide hangers, etc....and a major expense & headache. I just wish these were sold in bulk. I priced these online and HD had the best price out there. May 19, 2015
