Bought this pump to replace another 1hp shallow well pump that went bad. Got the conversation kit for shallow well and followed instructions to the t. First time it leaked right where the conversion kit connected. Not a little... ALOT! And it also leaked at the base of the t outlet. All fittings were Teflon taped and securely fastened. Took both products back to HD and the promptly swapped them for 2 new ones. Got home, re plumed , Primed and guess what ? Yep, Same 2 problems! I am so upset, no water for 2 days and this has just added to it. Steer clear of this piece of junk and spend the money on a decent one!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AString Great pump. One drawback.
The drawback is that the holes are too close together for PVC fittings. One of the holes has to be extended with metal pipe. Then you can continue with PVC. The fewer connections the better and this creates an extra connection. That being said, It is a great pump. Bought this as a replacement pump for a forty foot well. Primed right up as per instructions. Much better pressure at the faucet than the old Sears pump. Quieter too.
I recently replaced a pump on a 25' well. For that I used the Wayne 3/4 hp shallow well jet pump. Very happy with it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RednexToyz Works Well with the Well
Living in the country, we have no option for "city" water service. We rely on keeping our own well maintained and our water system operational. A few years back we opted to duplicate the operating system of our well to ensure that down time of pumps/switches at the well was minimal. I am using this pump as a backup, plumed in the system, to our existing pump. This does a good job. Quiet & self-priming after the initial prime (which I found easy to do). Works with 110/240V electrical systems. Built in pressure switch and pressure gauge allows for visual confirmation it is operating under expectations.

35 years ago my father put a shallow well (35 feet deep) on the side of the
house for watering the lawn. We all thought he was a little nuts, but looking
back he was right. We used it strictly for watering the lawn and washing the
cars, the only cost was for the electricity for the motor. There's also the fact
that the well water was better for the lawn as it does'nt have all the additives
that the local water supply has, as well as we now pay wastewater tax, and
they base your tax on your water bill.... so water in = $ out in tax money and
watering the lawn could prove to be expensive.
I ordered this pump because it was a direct bolt in replacement so to speak,
My previous pump was only a half horsepower though, After electrical and
plumbing hook up to existing wires and pipes I easily swtched the pump to 120
volts and threw on the breaker. Everything worked well, the pump was as quiet
as the old one and at 1 HP increased water pressure for the sprinklers from 15
lbs to 35 lbs, so after a few adjustments everything was fine. I am also now
able to water both the font and back yard at the same time, something I
could'nt do before.
This seems to be a heavy duty well built pump and should provide years of
service,,,,, A good Investment since Driving a shallow well is not a hard thing to do

I replace a expensive name brand pump that lasted for 20 years with this everbilt. I didn't have a lot of money so I decided to try this pump, at half the cost of other brand, it seems to be very well built. Install was easy with no adjusting of anything. Just fill with water to prime, turn on the power and presto up to full pressure in no time at all. Very smooth and quite, hopefully it will last for years to come

I purchased this 1HP Jet Pump at our favorite orange store. The jet pump appears extremely rugged and sturdy based on its cast iron casing and operates very quietly as well. Installation was a breeze and switching from 220Volts to 115Volts was also easy. All you do is remove the top cover, find the small switch and flip to the proper voltage. During installation I noticed that the 1 1/4" and 1" port holes (water/air) were too close together to allow PVC male couplings to be used. I had planned on using PVC to eliminate the galvanized nipples with hope of minimizing sediment build up in the galvanized pipe connections but was unable to do so because the wrench grips on the PVC coupling kept hitting each other thus preventing the second coupling from turning. I substituted the second PVC coupling for a 1"X4" galvanized nipple and that did the trick. This is all a matter of preference as I know this motor probably won't last 15-30 years which will give me a chance to switch out these galvanized couplings when a new motor is installed. Other than that minor problem, this jet pump motor is an excellent choice and nicely priced.
My 6" well has water at 25 feet and the piping extends 75 feet below the surface. Let's hope this jet pump withstands the South Texas Heat.
