Answer:
This will only keep incredibly large (Amazon river size) snakes out. Holes are about the size of a golf ball

Answer:
I consulted with a wildlife expert (one who retrieves snakes from personal property) and he advised me to get nothing larger than galvanized fencing that has a 1/4" opening. I think 1" would be too large.

Answer:
The squirrels won't bite thru the galvanized wire, but it has too much stretch i'd think to maintain well if the squirrels are determined. I'd look into extruded metal screen for a more permanent (though more expensive) solution

Answer:
Poultry netting is a perfect product for stopping squirrels and other small rodents from getting into crawl spaces and attics. You can also try using hardware cloth if you want a smaller opening.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 51 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Product with many uses Netting was used for cucumber cages. It was easy to form and stayed put once formed. I've also used it for my chickens and it did the trick. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It is what it is...chicken wire It was actually a little bit over 50 feet... not twisted, bent, or mangled... unrolled it and used it hem in chickens (young birds that could fit through my regular fence). June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good purchase Rolls out easily. Right height for what I was doing. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by multi-purpose poultry netting I bought this netting to expand and seal off the cover to my expanded chicken coop and feeding area for my hens. I also used it as a wall for my 25' length of gladiolas that are planted alongside my driveway to allow them to stand upright. It is working fine for both projects. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good chicken wire for the money This chicken wire is working perfectly to keep rabbits out of my garden. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use Bought two rolls in different sizes to install around a picket vinyl fence so our new puppy could not go through the fence. It was easy to unroll, cut and attach. It is hardly noticeable and looks great and does exactly what we had hoped. May 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another use for Poultry netting The Poultry netting was the perfect size for the compost bins. It will contain the material and allow for ventilation. The wire was in a roll and therefore easy to unroll and then staple to the wood frame. May 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Poultry caging is used in our art studio as armature for sculptures. It is very easy to mold into the shapes we need. Poultry cage fencing works great when used as armature for sculpture in the art studio. The material is easy to work with and holds up to materials applied to the fencing. March 4, 2014
