I picked a couple tarps to re-cover the detached garage for winter on the roofing project that has been ongoing (long story). I had these tarps previously and they lasted a few years.
I didn't notice that the two I picked up this time were from different batches, although the same part number. One was a dark brown, and the brown side coating was thick enough to cover the webbing smoothly. This tarp was like what I remembered when I installed the older ones.
The other was a medium brown with some of the webbing exposed and the rest somewhat thinly covered so that the webbing was more apparent. The feel of the lighter colored tarp was also more flimsy. This tarp was also narrower (9'-6") than the darker one (9'-9"). (I didn't check length.)
I was interested in having the brown side exposed, so I didn't compare the silver side.
The sample patch attached to the outside of the packaging was the same shade for the two packages, somewhere between the two actual shades. The attached picture was taken when I test-fitting before I secured them. The dark one seemed good quality. I took points off for almost being fooled into accepting the other one, which was noticeably different. I will be returning the lighter one.

Not sure what happened to the other reviewer's tarp but I have one and it is great. It stood up to a year of summer, fall, winter, spring. Very little sun damage. I had laid bricks on top and there was a faint difference in color. No rips or tears, grommets intact. Had it on a metal shed guyed down tightly.
Second year of use, have it on a leaky metal sharp edged roof. 1-2 small tears because I was lazy taking it off the first time. It's back up a second time, lots of rain here, no issues, works fine.

I, was looking for a tarp that would withstand the uva sun rays without deteriorating. I was buying the cheaper blue tarps ($10 - $12) and they would last for maybe 18 - 24 months, so I decided to buy this more expensive one $27.) that stated it would stand up to the suns rays. After 8 weeks the silver stated flaking off and after 11 months it was completely falling apart. I Would not buy this brand again or recommend it to anyone.
