Answer:
This bracket supports shelves 11-15 in. deep. A 16 in. shelf will be too large for this bracket.

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 56 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great grasp on the bar but attractive It is as attractive as a closet shelf bracket can be however I want to point out just a couple of things. 1, it does not grasp the closet rod very well and 2, it does not come with screws so you are desperately trying to find ones that don't slip through very large holes yet also look ok. Still, reasonable purchase but considering you have to go buy screws as well, not as great of a purchase. October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Plastic Bracket Failed Low quality plastic breaks and rod and clothes dropped to floor. The metal frame and supports are sturdy however, the rod holder is made of thin, low grade plastic that failed. May 11, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Shelf and rod bracket The product seemed reasonable, but after a few days, one of the brackets had to be replaced as it bent under the weight of my clothes. I was surprised that it bent. Replaced bracket seems fine. Could have just been a factory defect. March 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Really poor quality After much planning and having to go to three stores to get everything I needed, I am totally disappointed with this product. After installing the brackets every 16 Inches as recommended, I proceeded to seat the rod into the plastic cups on the brackets and the rod just popped back out. I tried repeatedly but to no avail. I also noticed that the arms on the brackets were not consistently bent. Really poor quality control from the manufacturer. I am working on a couple of fixes for seating the rod. I suppose the weight of the clothes will help seat the rod but I am not counting on it. Shouldn't have to. May 31, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job For the amount paid, it did the job. Would recommend September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value These are very strong metal brackets to hold a clothes pole and / or set up shelves. If putting up shelves, they come in different depths. There are 3 screw holes to hold the bracket. I put mine in a remodeled closet to help support a closet clothes pole. It does not come with screws. I used 2 inch drywall screws and made sure I anchored to the wood beams inside the walls. You will find these in stock in the closet section. September 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by versatile, clever design all you need are studs to secure these brackets on the wall. unlike some other brackets, these don't need to be on the ends of the pole where your walls might be weaker. even if the brackets are closer to each other than you'd like, hangers can glide over the brackets easily because the U that holds the rod comes underneath. it's actually a pretty clever design, i'm impressed! yes, it's a plastic U shape holding the rod, but most of the weight load should be downward, which is transferred to the wall, i'm not too worried about the plastic U... yet February 25, 2016
