What Size Pipe will These Brackets Support?

I am doing a shelving project. The rods I intend to use are commercial pipe with either of the following dimensions: 3/4 Pipe -- 1.05 OD .750 ID .113 Wall or 1" Pipe -- 1.315 OD 1.00 ID .133 Wall I am trying to replicate Tube Brass that was 1 1/2" OD, 1.250" ID and .125 Wall. I had thought of using 3/4 Galvanized Pipe, but wondered if it would be too heavy for the brackets. The brackets will be screwed into Hickory supports and then into the wall stud. Your advice is appreciated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor quality! Product looks good, but it is not reliable. We have installed it twice, and both times the plastic tips of the clips that hold the bar would chip off, and entire bar with clothe on it has collapsed twice when clothe was not even touched touched or moved from side to side. We have spent money, time and effort on the product that is absolutely worthless!!! We are looking for a new product, since we found collapsed closet once again today! It is upsetting to see the clothe again on the floor and completely wasted money and labor.

I screwed 2 of these brackets into the studs of my closet with no problems. There are specific screws you can buy that fit perfectly, just ask the hardware associate. The brackets are 5 1/2 feet apart and are very sturdy. I screwed in a shelf on top and the brackets hold the weight on the shelves with no problems. They look amazing and are very sturdy. Also, there are no problems with the bar being held in place to hang cloths. I am very pleased and will definitely be buying more.

They were quite a bit pricier than your standard shelf bracket, but it is really rigid and the plastic bar holder is good quality and looks much better than your cheaper options. The steel that it is made of is also a much better quality and gauge than the standard brackets. I would actually really recommend that if you are going to put in some closet rod shelf brackets to spend the extra couple of dollars for these!

These are a little tricky to install, I used 5 of them on a closet organizer. The problem was that my back wall has a slight bow in it so the clothes hanger bar would not fit perfectly in the bracket's holder. The holder is plastic and broke very easily when I tried to snap the bar in. The bar still rests on the holder but the snapped plastic piece is a bit unsightly. Overall though, they are sturdy, built well and got the job done.

Best value and construction out there. I cant stand wire shelves. Built my wife's closet first and she loves it. Now I am building mine. Great product. Very easy to work with and very strong when done.

We used this for 20 suits and jackets and it fell down in a week or so. We didn't even get to the phase where we were going to add shelving to the top. You probably need twice as many of these as you intuitively would use.

The rod holders don't line up from bracket to bracket when you put all the brackets level for the shelf. I had to bend the holders to make it work but that scratches the finish and a real pain.
