Customer Questions & Answers

How do you weigh a door?

How do you weigh a door?
Asked by: Obvious
I didn't weight the door I went by size. Obviously a wood door will be heavier than a single pane aluminum door. I used the 160LB ones for my wooden garage door and I used the 130LB ones for my girlfriend's single pane aluminum door. Each box has a sixe chart on them and you can always ask the HD workers. They know a lot about size and weight comparisons. Good luck

Was very hard to open , especially for my wife. Installing these new springs was easy and the extra 20 pounds of lift has turned out to be perfect for my door. Can lift with no effort now and no chance of door free falling to the ground.

I bought it but didn't install as I needed 180LB springs which is not stocked at store and had to order. Wish the 180lb spring would have been stocked as it takes a long time to be sent to store. Sure it would work on the proper weight door.
