Can this be used in a basement to install a full bath if you get a sewage pump?

Asked by: Kyle
Yes generally this is what they are designed for. The sewage basin, at least the one I bought at Home Depot, was a solid basin (no holes in the side). Once you get your rough out for the basement bathroom complete and all you pipes pitched correctly, that is when you measure to cut your inlet pipe and connecting with the proper flanges so it doesn't leak, then you are able to run your sewage exit piping overhead to the city sewer.

The price is very reasonable compared to some of the others. It is made of a very thick polyethylene and is quite sturdy. There is no concern of the tank collapsing when direct burying it and packing the dirt around it. The lid does not come with the tank and it costs as much as the tank itself. I decided to make my own lid using aluminum sheet from an old road sign. In my setup a hole saw was used to cut an output hole for the 2" schedule 40 pipe to exit the tank side near the top. The tank is buried flush with the ground so it will be easy to work on the pump and float switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sewage Sump Pump Basin The basin works well for us. It would have been much nicer if there had been one in the store where we could have installed it right then, instead of having to wait for a delivery. I understand that in Texas, there normally isn't much need for one, but to have at least 2 on hand would be a good thing since you stock the sump pump.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sewage pump Basin The 18" x 30" sewage pump basin was a good quality basin, it was priced way below my wholesale suppliers. The freight charge was cheap and was delivered even quicker than stated.
