I need to know the gauge of this expanded metal sheet, example, gauge 16, etc.

Asked by: Jorge
Well, the thickness in the description states it is 0.125 inches ... that would equate to around 10 gauge. Maybe the description is incorrect?

Is this sfe for BBQ grill?

Is this plated with cad or zinc (galvanized)? It doesnt look like bare metal and the description says the finish is "silver metallic" Please advise.
Asked by: ALRUI
It is bare metal. The packaging in the store clearly is labeled for BBQ as possible use for both sizes. A graphic shows it being used as the food grill. However I question if the gauge is strong enough to support much weight when the metal is continuously heated.

Can I use this as a wire mesh Vent Screen to keep birds, rodents, leaves, etc. from entering PVC vents in the HVAC inlet/outet pipe?
Asked by: Roystn
You could if you wanted to take the time to cut and bend it to fit but its an overkill for what youre trying to do. Just use regular "hardware cloth" (old school term) - heavy metal screen something along the lines of this: its easier to cut and work with. Obviously you dont need a 100 ft. roll. They sell smaller rolls and some places sell it by the foot. Hope this helps!
