How do you remove the pin?

I'm trying to install a hinge pin door stop, but I can't get the pin on this hinge to come out!

I tried using a small screwdriver and hammering up from the bottom but it didn't budge. I saw a comment that you can use an 8-penny nail, so I tried using a long screw (didn't have an 8-penny nail) but that just stuck in the hole and didn't budge the pin either.

I've tried having the door completely closed and also slightly ajar when doing this. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong!

Thanks in advance!

Answer:
A small punch and a hammer. They come out by tapping the hinges pins up.

Answer:
This is a security hinge; the pin is rolled at the bottom so you cannot remove it.
The point is to have the ability to mount a door that opens outward (as required in some places) with some sense of security

I have installed countless doors. How do you get the pin out of these? Mine look to be pin less.

Answer:
I have not attempted to remove the pin from these
I can tell you they're quite sturdy, I have about a dozen outside for barn doors
Maybe they are pinless

Answer:
The hinge needs to be open when removing the pin. You should be able to remove the hinge pin using a punch.

Answer:
Get the hinges without the security tab. Unless you hang the doors perfectly they will not work.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hinges! These are exactly the hinges I was looking for for every single door in my house. Awhile back I replaced all the grubby brass (?) doorknobs and now I'm replacing the hinges gradually. I just replaced nine and have 12 to go. They look good, as you can see by the pic, and they're easy to install. Also, they price was right. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by They are good They are not cheaply made and work as intended though if replacing existing ones I would be sure to have longer screws on hand just in case March 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Had to take them back The security tabs did not align properly and the doors would not shut completely. I am rehanging a set of double doors, and there is no room for error with these tabs. If you are off by 1/32" the doors will not close with these hinges. I would not recommend this product for anyone. March 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase this was easy to install on the door. no problems. October 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hinges I have purchased several sets of these hinges and have always been impressed with the quality and the value. I even installed a dozen of these outside for a set of small barn doors 2 years ago, and they still look like new. Great product June 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect fit replacing old brass hinges These hinges fit perfectly in the cutout from my old hinges. One bit of advice - the pins can be removed by driving an 8-penny nail up from the bottom. April 18, 2013
