When the pump reaches 40+ PSI it cycles off, then it throws a fit: turning on/off/on/off. It is working itself to death! I checked the pressure tank (empty) and it is set at 26PSI. I have not adjusted the factory setting on the pressure switch. HELP!

Answer:
Why is your pressure tank empty?!? Find out why you have no water going into your pressure tank - it is NECESSARY (like a sponge) so your pump cycles normally as the pressure tank empties and fills normally.

Great Question Newwell. I'm not sure about this dilemma however this sounds like you may possibly not have enough power in your wiring schematic from your source. I would look at that first and see if that is not the issue. If this persists and that is not the problem I would contact the manufacturer. Hope this helps. Andy

Answer:
My experience with this pump is that cutoff is higher than 40 psi, closer to 50.
I suspect a failing pressure switch. Cutoff and cut in should be clean.

i have a question about your Everbilt 3 quarter jet pump.

I have a 3 quarter Grundfos submersible well pump. My pump is 285 feet down the well, and I have another 200 feet rise up to my house--about 485 feet total rise. Yet, the total distance from the pump to the house is about 800 feet. The Grundfos only will pump about half the way up to my house--about 450 feet.. One of your store employee's stated I could use your 3 quarter Everbilt jet pump at my house (just before the pressure tank) and that would suck the water the rest of the way up to my house. Is this true?

Answer:
Not a chance !! Follow the calculations provided by the manufacturer to pick the right size pump and buy up a little. Most have a webpage info and definitely stay with the submersible pump. They are a pain to replace but you shouldn't have to do that very often.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad product Worked with this pump for over two weeks trying to find out why it would not prime or lost the prime. I changed all of the PVS intake pipe to the well and still had issues. The pumped leaked air from all of its orifices, even after sealing. Poor design as the female orifices were to large to fit snugly with male counterpart. Finally stopped all leaks and the pump kept the prime; three days later the main 11/4 pipe intake blew out the PVC male part. It literally blew the part several feet as once again, the pump's female screw in for the pipe was too large for the fitting. Purchased a new pump and everything is working well. Will be returning the pump. September 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A waste of $$$ Got it all hooked up but the pump couldn't make more than 40psi...with the cutout at 50psi the pump ran until it got hot and then the pressure dropped. A friend had the same problem, wish he had told me earlier. August 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worse pump ever The pump is ok if you only wanted it for one hose or a small house. Noisy even after fully primed and running. NOT for any irrigation applications. The ratings on the box are easily to misunderstand. Where all my other pumps were rated in gallons per minute, this one is GPH. That's per hour and it's not easy to read. It is much smaller than what the box and picture on the internet show. There are better and bigger pumps available for just a little more $. August 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of time and money I bought this pump as a replacement. I had it installed for about 3 weeks and it started leaking around the motor shaft where it goes into the impeller. I took it back and got a new one. Within 3 hours of installing the new one, it lost pressure after we ran the water. The pump just kept running and wouldn't build up over 40 psi and wouldn't shut off. I took this one back and bought a different brand from Menards. August 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pump Leaks Installed everything to find the pump leaks. Real bad. Do not buy...you will waste your time & money returning this piece of junk. September 1, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pump pressure not what I hoped I thought this was gonna be better than the 20+ yr old pump I replaced, not even close. They don't build them like that anymore. August 16, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product The instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. The pump was easy to install and works like a charm. What else can I say. It is great when everything works like it is supposed to. July 20, 2016
