Customer Questions & Answers

Pump cycles on and off, on and off, on and off....instantly

When the pump reaches 40+ PSI it cycles off, then it throws a fit: turning on/off/on/off. It is working itself to death! I checked the pressure tank (empty) and it is set at 26PSI. I have not adjusted the factory setting on the pressure switch. HELP!
Asked by: Newell
Are you using a pressure tank? Water does not compress i.e. it will change pressure from 0 to 100 instantly. You have to have a pressure tank and make sure your pressure switch is clean and not blocked.

Asked by: mand
US standard cycle is 60 hz. European standard is 50 hz. This is built to US specs. It is dual voltage so it can be used with either 220 or 110 voltage.

i have a question about your Everbilt 3 quarter jet pump.

I have a 3 quarter Grundfos submersible well pump. My pump is 285 feet down the well, and I have another 200 feet rise up to my house--about 485 feet total rise. Yet, the total distance from the pump to the house is about 800 feet. The Grundfos only will pump about half the way up to my house--about 450 feet.. One of your store employee's stated I could use your 3 quarter Everbilt jet pump at my house (just before the pressure tank) and that would suck the water the rest of the way up to my house. Is this true?

It receives extensive daily use. It is used to pump water from my well to my aerator tank and is used for watering my yard. My pump is not in any sort of enclosure and basically sits open to the elements in my backyard. I would estimate that my pump runs on average for at least three hours a day and WAY longer on days that I water my yard. I was skeptical because this replaced a pump of equal horsepower, but this pump was about 25% smaller and lighter than my old pump. Don't let the size and weight of this pump fool you. This pump is an absolute workhorse. It comes pre-setup with a pressure switch making installation easy. This smaller pump actually outperforms the larger pump it replaced. With regards to the negative reviews about this pump. I read the negative reviews and it sounds like they were written by people that are not very handy. Don't blame the pump if you don't know how to install a pump properly. Bottom line: 18 months of heavy duty daily use and this pump shows no signs of slowing down. I recommend this pump.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad product Worked with this pump for over two weeks trying to find out why it would not prime or lost the prime. I changed all of the PVS intake pipe to the well and still had issues. The pumped leaked air from all of its orifices, even after sealing. Poor design as the female orifices were to large to fit snugly with male counterpart. Finally stopped all leaks and the pump kept the prime; three days later the main 11/4 pipe intake blew out the PVC male part. It literally blew the part several feet as once again, the pump's female screw in for the pipe was too large for the fitting. Purchased a new pump and everything is working well. Will be returning the pump.

That said, it was easy to connect to electric service and water connections because of how light it is. Once the pump was primed, it worked just fine. I liked the pressure gauge being included. The volume of water delivery is OK for the situation. I can't say how it will would work under heavy duty (continuous) operation, but for the purpose used, it's OK. it's been in service about a month so more time is needed to see if it survives.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Bought this pump for a summer cabin 500 miles north of my residence. Installed in spring and used for a total of 4 weeks during season. Had very little water pressure. Upon going back this spring the motor hummed but failed to start. Pump house was heated all winter. Replaced with a Dayton 3/4 hp pump and now have great water pressure.
