Customer Questions & Answers

would these be a good size for a door that is 1" thick?

I am a little unsure about the 'assembled width' dimensions - I need to know if the sections that you attach to the door are 1" or less wide as the wood my doors are made of is only 1" thick
Asked by: diyslu
It would work for a 1" thick door depends how long and heavy the door is you might need to put 3 or 4 hinges on it

Are these sturdy enough to use on interior bedroom 30" 6 panel slabs? If so, would you use two or three per door?

Asked by: Reese
Yes. As a general rule you will want to use 1 hinge per every 30 inches of door or fraction thereof. Referring to door height: 1. Doors up to 60 inches need 2 hinges. 2. Doors over 60 inches, but not over 90 inches, need to use 3 hinges. Of course you wouldn't use one hinge on your door - to be clear at least two per door and then add one more every additional 30 inches. This is of course only an estimate because you didn't include the width, thickness or weight of your doors. I always err on the side of more hinges than less. If they are spring / self closing / soft close / self opening and the action of the hinges is too powerful you can disable individual hinges (or use no free swing in some of the locations) until you are satisfied with the action of the hinges. Hope this helps

are non-mortise hinges the same as bifold hinges

are non-mortise hinges the same as bifold hinges
Asked by: alli
These hinges will work to connect the two panels in a bi-fold set up however the "non-mortise" term refers to how the hinge attaches/sits on the door. A non-mortise hinge is attached to the surface of the door/panel where a mortise is installed after cutting of door edge / frame edge panel and removing material in the shape of the hinge to be installed - this allows the hinge to be installed so it will be flush with the surrounding material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Sturdy The price and good value first attracted me to the product. Purchased two 60lbs. approx. weight interior doors from HD three years ago and installed four of the reviewed hinges on each door. They have work perfectly since installation. Just finished replacing all the interior door hinges in my house with these hinges with two for each door.
