Can it be used to pump gasoline?

Want to empty an automobile gas tank. Can this pump do that? If so do you still have to use some oil first so you don't burn it up? Can you use a small amount of motor oil?
Asked by: zack
DANGER ⚠. NEVER USE THIS PUMP TO PUMP GASOLINE OR OTHER FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS , The motor brushes in the drill create sparks while the drill is running and will ignite the vapors of gasoline or other flammable liquids resulting in an explosion and fire , Causing severe burn injury , Death and property damage , Also , Transferring flammable liquids can generate static electricity and a spark caused by static electricity will ignite vapors as well , There are specially made pumps available for transferring flammable liquids , ALWAYS PUT SAFETY FIRST !!!

Read the instructions (prime the input line, lubricate the unit, run it in the right direction) and it should work just fine. It exceeds my expectations for a $12 tool. If you're worried about reliability, they're cheap - buy two and return either the extra one you will have, or the broken one that was defective at the start.

I wanted to use it to drain a waterbed mattress; it worked for about 30 seconds, and never again after that. Same behavior with the first unit too. Either I'm doing something wrong, or this unit is not capable of doing the job I need it to do. Either way, won't purchase again, and don't recommend it.

Bought this to pump out some remaining water in the bilge of my boat after it was pulled for winter storage. Worked great. A tually pumped faster than I expected. My only problem was the input and output hoses are coiled very tight in the box so it was difficult to straighten them for immediate use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from THe pump is no way near 300 gallon per hour.... THe pump is no way near 300 gallon per hour. I had it on a high spped drill and I was lucky to get 6 5-gallon buckets filled in an hour.... that's only 30 gallons per hour. Regardless it did do what it was supposed to, it just did it way slower. I even bought a garden hose to use on both ends.

It barely pumped and it was particularly annoying that it didn't even say which direction to run the drill in. I threw it out as it wasn't worth the money to take back. Don't waste either your time or money on this piece of junk
