Customer Reviews

36 in. Thermocouple is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor quality on positioning adapter The thermocouple itself seemed to be an exact replacement. However, the positioning adapter was injection molded and made of cheap metal. The threads were so poorly done that it wouldn't grip in the holder. I had to use the old one -- which wasn't a problem but was still disappointing. Given the poor quality of the positioning adapter, I'm now a little worried about the overall quality of the device, especially since I read some of the other reviews which said it failed soon after installation. I also noticed that HD sells a White Rodgers model for $5.11; less than half the price of this one! But, they don't stock them in the stores; only available online. That seems like a real ripoff; if it had been available in the store there's no way I ever would have bought this one.

I purchased a thermocouple from another big box hardware store and it didn't have the extra collar which allowed the thermocouple to move within the positioning housing. We literally had to replace it two days later with this one ... we haven't had to deal with that again since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just fine The part installed easily on my Kenmore water heater. It initially would not light, but my Home Depot plumbing associate gave me a tip to preheat the thermocouple with a BBQ lighter then light the water heater. Started on the next try.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The way it sould be Included the necessary fittings for my application, unlike the only thermocouple offered in stock at the other big box store. HD actually has a small selection of them. An HVAC store would of course have more, but at twice the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected This thermocouple does what it is supposed to do. I did find out that for most systems the shortest one will suffice. The longer one will have to be rolled up in order to fit but that does not take way from its functionality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Drove 2 hours to my the closest store and 2 hours back only for it not to screw into were it goes. Highly NOT universal. Had to modify the attachment to have heat not good when it's below zero out. Very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost worked The thermal couple that I brought had everything that I needed. However it it did not screw into the housing. I thing the problem may have been with the housing
