This is a nice concept and does work reasonably well. Overall I generally like the product, have it fully loaded, and do recommend it – but with some reservations.
You can fill up most if not all of the 11 slots with long handled tools but these slots are so close together you will need a really good layout and nesting strategy and may have to give up using a few slots if your tool mix requires more space. It does struggle with tools that have very thin handles (such as a rake) which tend to fall out if they’re not angled slightly against the wall. It will also have trouble with tool handles that are too thick. Some simply won’t fit, others may have to be placed in the “wrong” position. That was the problem for two steel shovels that would only fit if the steel blades rested on the floor. Since that’s a great way to develop rust, they will be mounted elsewhere. If you have a lot of large handled tools, this might not be the rack for you.
The flip down hooks designed for small hand tools will work with some products, but not with those that have fat handles. More important, though, it that if you dare fill up all 12 hooks with small tools, taking out several large tools means pulling many of these small tools off of the rack. Take a look at the box in store (or in the picture from the box that I’ve enclosed). You’ll see how the manufacturer makes the small tool idea look appealing – by using every other large handled slot. If your tool mix looks like the picture on the box, you may really like this rack.
Finally, mounting will appear to work either direct on wood stud, or into wallboard. It won’t mount into a stud behind wallboard unless you buy a set of much longer screws. My problem here was that I needed to reach behind some heavy duty garage wallboard forcing me to buy screws with large heads. The rack couldn’t slide over these screws making installation a two person job and added a 30 minute round-trip back to HD to buy them. Obviously not a deal killer, but it would have been nice if the manufacturer put that fact on the box.
Overall, the rack is competent and handles my mix of long handled tools pretty well. But I’ll need a separate mount for two shovels, and another for all my small tools.

Bottom line is that this organizer just plain does not work. Maybe the first week or two it sort of worked. What then happens is the friction part of the holders smooths out and tools simply fall right down. Better bet would be something that clips around the handle of tools or, what I will try next, the floor standing holder.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TCSdiesel Update to my 1st review
After writing my first review on this product (a Negative one) the company saw it and contacted me with an offer to mail me a brand new one with a improved design that they now use. I accepted and am very happy with it! Like night and day difference.
I first bought this product several months ago and was unimpressed. It would just let tools slide through and not grip them. After I bought it I saw that many others had the same problem. I never gave it another thought just figured I lost twenty bucks.
The NEW and IMPROVED one looks the same but GRIPS TOOLS VERY WELL as you would expect it to. Not many companies take the time to go the extra mile to please the customer but this one has. I would now recommend this product to anyone considering such an item.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by LAmist works well to keep tools against wall, but doesn't hold them off ground
This was very easy to install (took me about 15-30 minutes and I didn't need any extra screws or anything other than what was provided). It holds all my tools against the wall. I agree with other reviewers that you need to have a good nesting strategy! I actually bought a different organizer as well so that I could spread the rakes & brooms out more. My only complaint is that all but the lightest tools end up slipping down so they touch the floor (when I store them with the business end down -- the ones stored with the business end up don't slip of course). It's not a big problem, because they still stay flat against the wall which is mainly what I wanted, but I expected it to have a bit more gripping power.
Also, the little hooks that you are supposed to be able to store trowels, scrub brushes, etc. on are not very function because they are not deep enough (at least for all of my heavy-duty stuff). I didn't end up using them at all.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JPJerr Excellent product for consolidating and hanging your gardening tools, brooms, rakes and shovels!
This product is large enough to hang quite a variety of tools and implements, but doesn't take up a lot of wall space. It's durable, easy to mount, and well-constructed. I'm very happy with this purchase and now my gardening tools are off of the garage floor and all in one place!

The plastic hooks do not hold any weight of significance, and you can't trust the handle holders either. It is simply a design that should have been thought through more thoroughly.
