Answer:
I bought quite a few of these and made curtains out of them and slipcovers for dining chairs, wing chairs and ottoman. The color changes a bit after a normal cold wash and I would say the color is somewhat a light mushroom. A cross between lt gray and lt beige. But it does vary with different batches of cloth. I bought a year in between 2 purchases and they do not match exactly. Good luck!

I was looking for the same thing. I have been using these drop cloths for a long time to make slipcovers. When I went to Home Depot today, I was very disappointed to see that they are made by a new company and looked gray in person. Looking on Amazon for the old ones.

Answer:
I would call the color more of an "oatmeal", but they may fade out with bleach, but I doubt they would ever get white because of the partial man made fibers. Not like your fathers cotton canvas ya know. The next batch I get I am going to try bleaching them to make a bedspread, but I don't care if they are not white. For this price and they are heavy for the winter, I will take what ever.

They are cream! They work great as curtains and they block the light out well! Hope this helps!

The ones that I bought were a taupe color... for lack of a better term. It's a color you would like for shoes. I think you will like them, why not go into the HD and look at them in person? I wouldn't hesitate to make some curtains from them, they are perfect material for substantial draperies. Good luck with it!!

I am using these for curtains. I purchased three from your store; one was perfect and the other two had a seam down the middle despite being the exact same brand and serial number.

One of my two DID have a seam down the middle, but I am happy with them. I plan to get more. I want to make a bedspread with the next two I get.

I had the same issue. Luckily though, the seam was close to the bottom past where I was already going to hem my curtain. I would definitely exchange the drop cloths with the seams. I purchased 4 and only 1 had a seam.

The set of drop cloths that I bought do not have a seam. I was quite surprised that for the price, these seem sturdy, substantial, and well made. There are a lot of DIYers that could appreciate these for any number of projects besides using them as painter's cloths!

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 102 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by This product is not mildew resistant. I bought these to make curtains for our pergola. We live in a hot humid state. The curtains were perfect for keeping leaves and rain out of the pergola. Week three they were covered in mildew. I had to take them down and bleach them. Next I had to find a mildew resistant solution to spray on them before I could try to hang them again. I liked this product for the price but if you need mildew resistant better spend more and get that. Price is good but if you need mildew resistant plan to pretreat. October 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I used these drop cloths to make drapes. The 6 x 9 ft. size was perfect for the large windows in the room. The color and texture were very similar to linen, though the drop cloths were substantial enough to hold up to fabric paint. The polyester content resulted in minimal shrinkage when the drop cloths were washed and dried prior to sewing them into drapery panels. March 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by These drop cloths are my large economical DIY no sew curtains! We needed curtains for staging our home for sale and that meant I wanted to spend- next to nothing. A quick internet search for alternative materials led me to painter drop cloths. I really liked what I was seeing - they looked like linen, had a nice natural color, and some adventurous DIY'ers have even painted them with stripes or chevron. This two pack of drop cloths is a great solution for my unusual sized windows and desire to use curtains as a headboard - for less! After getting them from the pickup desk I dashed home. I washed them three times to make them softer, dried with tons of fabric softener, and broke out the iron. I folded the extra fabric to the wrong side to make the height I needed, attached clip curtain rings, and hung them on 5/8" rods. Easy and economical plus looks great! No one suspects I spent approx. $6 per panel on custom height linen looking curtains. October 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for sofa throws! I purchased these to make sofa throws for 2 piece sectional sofa. There are NO seams down the middle of these. I bleached them in the washer twice and let them soak overnight in the 2nd bleaching. I rinsed 3 times and used vinegar for the second rinse. Do not use fabric softener if you are going to paint or dye the drop cloths. I heat set the paint in the dryer on high for 1 hour. January 26, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Useful, but does not fully protect floors from paint drips. The canvas is not impervious to latex paint drips. Even dime-size drips color whatever is beneath. In the future I will use the canvas on top of thin plastic sheeting as I prefer to walk on the canvas instead of plastic. After my paint job, I will find other uses for the canvas in the garage or as a ground cloth at outdoor music concerts. June 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by easy peasy washed/dried/ironed, and clipped up for drapes! ...made couch covers also, easy to work with and wash/dry. awesome value. April 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for curtains. These drop clothes are perfect for making curtains. The fabric is heavy duty and there are no seams running through the middle of the cloth. The only problem is that some of the hems were uneven. October 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Drop Cloths wonderful quality and great value! I use these at my painting workshops and they keep the floors clean. I would absolutely purchase again at that price. Thanks Home Depot!! August 11, 2013
