Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use this to attach to a 5" downspout to divert water away from the house foundation ?

Asked by: Pebbles
No. Get an exterior flexable plastic piece made for downspouts. This is too fragile. Also there is no means to effectively attach this to your downspout. It will be a waste of your time and money.

Can this product be used in dust collection systems?

Asked by: Jimh
Not a fan of this stuff for anything but a simple straight dryer vent run. Some communities won't even allow it for that! If you can use rigid--do so. The rigides in this stuff may collect its own dust and clog your system over time

How do you adapt from flexible to ridgid duct when making connections?

Asked by: Toolman63
It just slides in or around, depending on the fitting you buy, then I used self tapping screws. You can use regular wood screws too, but I found self tapping ones to be best. If you use regular screws, you have to pre-drill the hole, depending on the material. I was using galvanized fittings and plastic fittings, and I found the self tapping screws to be easiest. The fittings I saw for connections were right by the duct. After you slide it in, use the appropriate size self tapping screws; 3/4 or 1/2 inch should do.

how long does it last?

will this aluminum duct outlast the insulated typed?
Asked by: diver
I haven't had it very long, but I would imagine that it would last just about forever, unless it's exposed to the elements or it's hit with something. It's kinda fragile, but as long as it's not abused, hit or exposed to the weather, I think it'll last just about forever.

6 in. x 8 ft. Semi-Rigid Aluminum Duct is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff If you're running a short, imperfect line, this is the product you want. It's a little fragile, so you can't just bang it around, but it's easy to cut and manipulate. If you plan to use its full length, it will buckle and need support from underneath (straps are fine), but short runs will be fine.
