Answer:
Hi Fry79,
This duct may be used, however since it's metal the heat from the a/c exhaust will heat up the duct which may endanger small children.
Th best option is to obtain the original duct from the a/c's manufacturer.

Customer Reviews

6 in. x 8 ft. Semi-Rigid Aluminum Duct is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Semi rigid aluminum duct This stuff is pretty much worthless to actuall use imo. Unless you buy for the looks then don't use it but other than that I had zero success using this stuff for anything. It came apart, unraveled or unwound or what have you. It was sharp when you would cut off a section. If I would have know any of this before my purchase I would not have bought it. I would have purchased some 6" noninsulated air duct instead. Because after all said and done with it I basically ended up having to throw a majority of it away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I had listened This item is extremely difficult to work with. It unravels if you try to expand past its 2 foot off-the-shelf state. Total waste of money. I sure hope they will allow me to return it. Thinner than Reynolds wrap. So yes, soda cans taped together better than this

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not waste your time If I could give a zero across the board I would. When you try to stretch this to reach your application, it starts to unravel and there is no way to try and get it back together. I saw a review for a similar product where the person said they would be better off using duct tape and aluminum cans and I agree. Do yourself a favor and DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. Unless of course you are looking for an incredibly frustrating experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ditto on the worthlessness of this product Cam apart with a minor stretch. Too thin to be even the slightest bit manhandled. Switching to rigid duct so I don't have to deal with the worthlessness. at 6" I guess there isn't a good flexible pipe option.
