Frequently Bought Together

Product Overview

These sheet metal screws, or tapping screws, are highly versatile and are used to attach metal, wood, fiberglass, and plastic. The sharp threads draw material together and ensure a secure hold. Made from hardened steel, the threads create their own mating thread in pre-drilled holes. Sheet metal screws are fully threaded with a sharp point.

Customer Reviews

Rated 1.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by tough to get them started, work well once you muscle them in Using an impact driver (max and medium speeds to no avail) and pushing as hard as this 300lb man can, I could barely get them to start their hole in some shelving units I purchased from home depot. Once the initial hole is there, they go right in and make a decent connection. I'd encourage you to use a drill bit to start the hole, I know, that defeats the purpose of self-drilling screws, but it will take less muscle (depending on what you're drilling into) and probably be just as fast. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid These screws don't self drill. Nothing like holding up ducting expecting your screw to grab and they don't even make a scratch. If you apply all of your strength, they will eventually penetrate the outer wall only to bend the inner duct. June 26, 2015
