I want to hang a long clothing rod from the rafters in my garage. What would I use to do this? I am fine with DIY and creative solutions. I'm having a garage sale with a lot of clothing. Include photos of materials/your solution if you can! Doesnt have to be pretty... Just effective.

Do you have a bracket I can use as a Ballet Barre Bracket?

When installed, the outside of the pole would need to be 9-1/2" from the wall? For an eight foot section, I was considering that two brackets would be sufficient when placed centered and 64" minimum apart from each other and a maximum of 72" apart. This would leave an overhang on either side from 12" to 16".

If you do not have a bracket please advise what you recommend. Please see photo of a bracket for SOLID wood. This would not work for the hollow Closet Pole without some sort of saddle.

Answer:
Probably, yes. Take it to the plumbing department where they have all the steel tubing and they'll have a tube cutter that will make quick work of it. Or you can do it at home with a tube cutter or hacksaw (a good $5 investment).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by More practical than metal poles It is more affordable than metal poles and you have the flexibility to cut it to the length that you want. I already custom built 3 closets on my own using this product! It can even be cut to your needed dimensions at the store when you purchase it. March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Long enough Set it on place and now is hanging out with the cloth hangers... July 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by can't bear alot of weight alone I bought this pole about 4 or 5 months ago and cut it to fit my closet (i needed a pole about 7ft long). last week i noticed that a part of the pole where it looks like 2 pieces were joined together was warping and crash the pole snapped in half. If you use this pole you will need support in the middle. However, I understand that to have a pole 7 or 8 feet long might need some support. I will most likely buy again but will also need to purchase a support bracket. August 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Takes stain well and looks good when finished Slightly pricey for a pieced-together pole, but it was easy to work with and looks good as part of a finished product. Just a light sanding to take off the machined rough spots and it takes stain very well. I used it in a closet re-build and the lumber used to make the closet a showpiece was actually way less expensive than buying that ugly wire shelving you see most other places. March 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for new contemporary home. These were perfect for our new house and will provide strength and durability for even the heaviest clothes. August 23, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great replacement for an old wooden closet rod This metal closet rod is ideal as an upgrade replacement for an old wooden rod. Also would be very nice in a new closet, of course. Very easy to install with matching brackets (available separately), and the finish is flawless. April 26, 2016
