I hung my 70# kayak on a pair in the garage. Just be sure they are drilled into studs.

Answer:
No, just gray with black padding. You could remove the padding, which is pipe insulation, and paint them.

Answer:
10 inches. I coated the vertical part of the hanger with FlexiDip which is a rubber coating. Adds extra protection for the kayaks.

The dimensions are not clear. What is the length of the part that attaches to the wall, and the part that you lay/set things on?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we needed. These were a breeze to install, and they did just-as-advertised, getting our ladders off the ground. April 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well for a fat tire bike We purchased this to hang a fatter tire bike, because our other bike rack would not hold the 2.5 inch tires of a bike. The only down side of it, is that the foam looks to be rather cheap, so it will not last long. But it worked really well to hold the bike. June 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Makes a sturdy kayak wall rack These hangers are the widest I could find and also the cheapest. High quality and the mounting screws are plenty long as well. Rated at 50 lbs. each. They come with a foam sleeve but I bought some 1" foam pipe insulation (6 ft. for $1.99) and covered the whole arm to provide more protection for my kayak. July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great. Easy to Install. Holds up to the weight it claims. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product easy to install and sturdy enough to hold 50 lbs Pad is a big plus June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! Works great and made well. It worked well for my needs. April 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for the price! I got these for around $5 to put my Kayak up on the wall in my garage. Of course you have to find a stud to hang them on (screw them into a 2x4 behind the sheet rock for more support). Well I was easily able to hang up my #70 kayak with two of these. Ones made of kayaks run around $30. These work great and still have the cushion to prevent any damage. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cheapest kayak holder you can find! Was looking at kayak storage options and everything was so expensive! For example academy's cheapest hanging solution was $40 and that was for a lag screw and strap to hold it in place. This was 11 bucks all together and works great for my kayak! Used two for a ten foot pelican. March 14, 2016
