Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Whew! Things we put ourselves just to move furniture! I'm having new windows installed and need to move furniture away from windows. I thought the sock bits would be easy to insert. Wrong! Took me while awhile but refused to be defeated by these things. Once on, they did the trick...but all that energy wasted and now I'm in need of coffee. Never again. August 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A Real Pain Like all the others who gave this product a one-star, I encountered the same problem. The socks are designed to frustrate all but the most patient. I had to put socks on eight shoes and didn't think I'd make it. Why not have the socks pre mounted and have the customer remove the sock if they are using it on carpeted surfaces. I can tell you it would make a lot more sense. I didn't see any reviews where the customer complained about removing the socks. July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by worked great! I had to move a heavy king bed that was sitting on a deep pile carpet. I didn't want to disassemble the bed. Lifting a single corner and yanking did no good. A buddy and I yanked 2 corners to no avail. I bought the 4 pack and slipped the first disc under a leg to discover there were actually 6 legs! Oops. I placed the discs at the 4 corners and found the bed moved quite easily. Amazing. When I slid the bed back and removed the disks I found that the bed legs left deep depressions in the discs. I do wonder whether repeated use of the discs will cause significant wear. But truthfully I don't know if they will ever be used by me again. The disks are a huge back saver. November 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Feats of strength required Sorry folks--I never write reviews, but after struggling to get two 'socks' on, I have to warn--it is way too difficult to get covers on. In fact, my forearms are so fatigued, that I can barely use the keyboard to warn others. Get a product that has the carpeted side manufactured on and save yourself. February 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great on hardwood floors, no scratching I put in hardwood floors and did not want anything to scratch them and I do have to move furniture around to clean. I put the sock covered glides on the discs and can move everything, even a fully loaded refrigerator while we were working in that room! only took one person to move it. these work great. every now and then use the wand tool on your vacuum to clean them. Home Depot had the best price for this product too. I wish they sold extra socks! May 26, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not good "Socks" kept coming off base so basically product works only half the time. The rest of the time you spend putting the socks back on. Also very hard to get on. Spent more energy and effort getting them on than moving the file cabinets themselves. Had to resort to tire inner tube installation method of using two screwdrivers to pry the sock on. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by These are fantastic!!!!! We have used numerous things over the years to move heavy furniture. Sliders work OK for most furniture but do tend to scratch the floor if furniture is very heavy. We needed to move a very heavy pool table (900 lbs.) and could not budge it. We bought some huge sliders and jacked the legs up enough to slide them under the legs. They flattened the sliders and pool table still did not budge! We purchased these from Home Depot as they were guaranteed to move 1000 lbs. and repeated the process. My husband and I (both in our 70's) were able to move the table across the room and reposition it several times. I thought I would be returning these for my money back but instead intend to go buy more to have on hand! They really do the job and the heavy cushions should protect wood floors as well, much better than the plastic sliders. Some commented they were no good and difficult to place the pad on. Don't know what they were trying to move or if they have children. This will easily move up to 1000 lbs. and you put the pads on just as you would put socks on children. Turn them over, inside out and they slip on easily. You then turn them up over the edges of the plastic disc. Great product! September 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by be prepared for ligament damage Not sure if these work well because it's taken me over 30 minutes to put a cover on JUST ONE. Poor design and not worth the effort. Best to go with something already assembled. August 29, 2015
