A little pricey for what it really is, just some plastic parts. However not too many options and i wanted a finished look on the inside of my laundry room, not just a hose through a wall. Tabs went in just fine, needed some force but even still, my hands were enough to get them snapped in place. Then was a matter of figuring height off the floor needed to use the ducting I had. Screwed in no problem, I did remove the damper door in the ducting, no need in my opinion and something to potentially catch lint. Your ducting can be compressed into an oval to fit the top of the box. Just use some ducting tape at the back - i had a slight leak back there using just a hose clamp but once taped and clamped it sealed up nicely.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HD poor design details
This was a good concept, but poorly executed. The plastic anchor tabs are too thick to easily snap into place on the box and therefore must be sanded or filed to fit and hammered into position with a rubber mallet. Also the tabs are positioned too far forward resulting in the duct interfering with the drywall. Its therefore necessary to cut 1/4 inch recessed notches in the adjoining studs to receive the tabs & provide enough clearance between the duct and surrounding drywall. .

By adding this Vent Box I was able to move my daughter-in-law's drier back enough to put an accordion type door in front of her laundry area without blocking the entry way into the mud room.

Plastic straps that u had to secure to the wall wouldn't stay clipped to unit during insulation and one of them broke. The picture and description makes u think your 4" dryer hose will fasten onto outlet....only when secured with foil tape.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SDDIY Oval-round adapter
The only usable part is the oval-round adapter. The box is too cheep to consider installing. I then bought the metal box to use this adapter in. The adapter quality seemed to poor for permanent installation. So I returned both kits and decided to go with a more typical and, I think, more high quality installation.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bluejeansesp Horrible quality and packaging.
I am renovating my basement and relocating the dryer and associated vent. I picked this product up on my way home from work to wrap up my wall rough in's in preparation for drywall. When I pulled it out of the packaging, 2 of the straps were missing. They are loosely packaged and 3 of the other one's I saw in the store were also missing straps, which is why I picked this one.
The top side adapter is to be removed so that you can connect the flex line from your dryer and then re-connect into the box and the hard duct in the wall. First, if you remove it, your hard duct will not be secured and if the wall has already been covered, you will be tearing out drywall to reconnect it. Luckily, my wall was not yet hung out. Secondly, when I tried to snap the adapter back in place, it wouldn't snap. The adapter is so flimsy, that it broke when I pulled it loose to connect my flex. DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS CHEAP AND YOU WILL HAVE TO GET ANOTHER ONE!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Meagan WORST PRODUCT EVER- DO NOT BUY
This product is so poorly designed and manufactured it is unbelievable. I now have a giant hole in my wall and no way to use this terrible product. The duct portion is held onto the box with two tiny tabs that break immediately when you attempt to attach the ductwork. They are not meant to break and it is unusable if they do, the quality of this item is shockingly pathetic.

For those having problems attaching straps:
1. Lay it on it's back
2. Take a strap, get it lined up with the notch and give i light taps and slowly drive it in, the weight of the hammer should almost be sufficient to gently guide it in.
Pros: Dresses the room up
1. Mine came with only two straps...
2. Flimsy as others have stated - too flimsy for my taste.
3. While the oval recessed vent is nice, you have to find an elbow or something to go in your wall if you need to go around the top plate of a wall.. GLHF with that.
4. The collar for mounting the duct to is mounted separately and can leak if the box is mounted with a small angle to the duct - sealing the duct to the box with tape is a MUST to prevent air leaking behind your wall.
