Let's be honest! It's just a wax ring. How excited can anyone get over this. It worked just fine, and did what a wax ring is supposed to do.

Took off the old gasket and cleaned the surface off to make ready for the new gasket. Placed the new gasket on the opening in the floor and then placed the stool on top of it and then applied pressure evenly all the way around the stool. The result was a good even seal and the toilet does not do the boot scootin boogy when you set down on it. Firm seal and holds the toilet tight to prevent leaks.

The wax ring is the tried and true method for installing toilets. It just works and works well. Yes its a little messy when it comes time to remove them, but hey. If you do not like a little mess then DIY is not your thing. The wax ring comes out of the box nice and thick. Its reinforced and really is a little stronger than wax rings of the past. They have all of these new synthetic options out now for installing toilets. Like gaskets with a foam donut. Those things dont work very well. Just still to the old school tried and true method of the wax ring. There is a reason they have been used on toilets for so long and are still in use today. "if it aint broke dont fix. These rings also come with new bolts as well. Which is a plus because those bolts should always be replaced when installing a toilet.
