Questions & Answers

How much rotation of the door will it allow for?

I don't want the door to swing more than 90 degrees.
Asked by: Kevin
As much as you need......just screw / unscrew the stopper thing.

Trying to figure out the size of the hole that the hinge stop mounts to.

Ie. What is the thickness of the loop that the hinge bolt goes through. It does not state it on the specifications page.
Asked by: Kirk
I got out a pair of calipers and measured the inside diameter of the nylon bushing at .225". (Too small for my hinges.)

Can this be used to let a door open 180 degrees?

Asked by: Suniedaze
Hello! I believe so. You can actually adjust the stop itself. It has a screw mechanism that will allow you to have it open more or less depending on what your needs are.

How far will this open? I'm looking for a 6-7 inch Door stop.

Asked by: Tom
The hinge pin doorstop opens 3-1/4 inches. A Kick Down Doorstop may be better for your needs.

I manage over 22 units of rentals and always have a few of these in my supply box. It's easy to pop off the pin on most doors, so I just pop one of these on. Sometimes the door is a little warped and the pin has bent a bit because the door wasn't "true" so it's hard or impossible to remove the pin. In that case, I would use a rubber stopper and drill it to where the knob would hit. Other than that, I'd use this pin door stop

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't allow for wide enough opening This is adjustable, allowing the door to open from about 50 degrees to about 95 degrees. I would expect the range to go higher than 95 degrees - the opening I want is about 110, and I would imagine that is somewhat common. I can't imagine many people would want their doors to open up to only 50 degrees.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Install This product is easy to install and appears to be made of high quality materials. The adjustment screw does not allow for the door to be opened much more than about 90 to 120 degrees. So keep that in mind if you need to have the door swing in a wider arc

Thankfully I only need to stop the door 3-6 inches, but if you need to stop a door more than that, the product is useless. You would think the geniuses that invent things would test them out, and corporate America might give one IOTA of care, but not!!!! ONE OF THE BEST INVENTIONS with the worst common sense follow up ever!!!! DO NOT buy this product thinking your door will stop anywhere near 3/4 or 1/2 way. Like is aid 3- 6 inches max because the screw is so short!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
