I have purchased five of these white enamel sash locks.
Two have failed when just turning the lever -- no force being applied whatsoever.
It looks like the manufacturer has not properly pressed the washer that holds the lever onto the base as it works itself free easily, separates from the base and ejects the two small leaf springs in the process.
Chalk this up to poor quality control.
It could be easily fixed.
I replaced the first one thinking that it was just defective.
But it is now obvious that there must have been a run of these bad parts.
I will fix them from now on myself by pressing the washer onto the lever properly.
But, of course, I should not have to do that.
