My tank was installed in 2001 and is almost 16 years old. Never a leak! Are the new glass lined tanks similar quality?

Asked by: Bmwguy
At 15 years you have doubled the average life of most oil fired hot water heaters; as the typical life is around 8. The limited life along with the high cost of oil and oil fired water heaters is leading to there demise. As most oil fired bottles are made by one or two enameling companies I would honestly say the long life your tank has enjoyed is probably due to good water quality along with not shocking the tank by deep cycling it. Even though we make these heaters and are very proud of our product I must honestly concede that the life of an oil fired water heater has more to do with the specific installation than the quality of the brand.

What is the life expectancy of fish oil heater

Asked by: charles
I find that people are often shocked how short the life is on an oil fired hot water heater. I live and work in Massachusetts. The average life of most tank type water heaters here is 7 years; oil gas and electric. This has to do with the corrosive characteristics of our water as well as how cold it comes in during the winter months. Cold water entering a hot tank causes thermal shock which eventually cracks the lining of the tank. Then it is only a mater of time before the oxygenated water attacks the steal in the tank. This is even worse with oil tanks as the oil flame is so intense. As a result oil fired hot water heaters have become less and less popular due to there limited life. However people understandably don;t prepare for a change to something else so when the oil fired tank starts to leak they end up replacing it because they can't go without how water while working on a better alternative.

How much is the burner wth the everot 50 gl oil fired water heater?

Asked by: MCL
Because burners last so much longer than tanks, they are sold separately. The SKU for the tank is 202809216 and the burner is 202837330. If you put those numbers into the search block on the web sight they will come up.
