No. 1: I am not an expert welder or "Mr. Fix-It".
No. 2: The original unit had to be returned because it would not turn on. However the customer service was 5 star. 1/2 point off.
No. 3: The replacement unit welds like a bandit. I was really amazed. In experienced hands this unit can handle just about any job.
No. 4: 1/3 to 1/4th the cost of an American made (maybe) unit.
No. 5: Simple and easy to use.
I have added a photo of my practice weld, using 1/8th dirty mild steel with a 1/8 6011 rod at 107 amps.
All it takes is practice, practice, practice.

I have used it several times already and it does a great job. Much easier to use than the old AC buzzboxes. The DC has a much more stable arc. The dual voltage is a very nice feature that makes it very portable as is the small size and light weight of the welder. The quality is very good (outstanding for the price) and the 10 foot stinger and ground cables make it very easy to work on out of position welding jobs. I researched several welders in this price ranges and I am very happy I picked this one. The 5 year warranties is just icing on the cake.

I bought one of these welders for my father. He is a welder and was constantly saying how he wished he had a welder at home to fix and make things so I got him one of these. It is really, really small and comes with its own carrying case to port around the welder, cables and consumables. Even I had an easy time using it. Starts are easy and it wouldn't stick the electrode even when I accidently pushed the rod into work too close. Its a great gift for both beginner and experienced welders.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sparkwelder Its a DUAL voltage welder
Its a good welder with plenty of power when plugged into a 220v outlet. Be aware that it will only output 90 amps when plugged intoa 110v outlet. Some people forget that and think the product is broke but you can't put out more energy than you are putting in and 110v will limit you. It is no big deal though because 90 amps is good enough for 3/32" welding rods.

This is my first product review. The Everlast 140st stick/tig welder is a really nice product. I like the fact that all of the welding leads are nice and long. The stinger and ground clamp are high quality. The fit and finish the construction is top notch. Welding with this welder is really nice and I really like the fact that it is dual voltage so I can weld just about anywhere and when I need to I can plug into 220v and weld with 1/8 electrodes. I even like the carrying case it came with. This is an excellent welding package.

This welder is about the size of a large lunchbox but don’t let the diminutive size fool you. It is dual voltage capable and can handle readily available 1/8” electrodes with aplomb. Unlike heavy, large transformer-based welders, this IGBT welder has hot start and automatic dig circuitry to make welding easier and more efficient by taking the stick out of stick welding. It has a maximum welding amperage of 140 amps in increments of single amps and doesn’t limit you to 4 or 5 ranges like some welders. All of this and it comes in its own carrying case. I really, really like this welder.

Bottom line the second I opened it up it spoke Chinese to me. For the money this is exactly what I expected. I plugged it in and the cooling fan kicked in right away sounding like an air raid horn from the Cold War. The overheat light was on and the digital amperage readout didn't move when I turned the knob. Called the Everlast Tech and he told me it was defective. I was really bumbed out but the Home Depot return process was a breeze. I'm now waiting on another Power Arc 140st to come. My fingers are crossed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MartieJoe Small, light and powerful DUAL VOLTAGE welder
Unlike 120v-only welders, this dual voltage welder can weld with electrodes right up to 1/8” for big jobs. I have welded successfully with 6011, 6013, 7014, 7018. I used much larger and heavier welders when I was going to school and I must admit this welder starts easier and welds smoother than they did. The duty cycle is really good too. I can weld the entire afternoon and never hit the thermal protection duty cycle limit. Don’t let the picture deceive you. It is much smaller and lighter than you can imagine.
